Big Lubowski Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 So why not Ray Purpur? He's 46, a good age with lots of energy to take on the job. He's a UND grad, who's done well at another very good school. He's not a professor/department head from some effete eastern school. He bleeds green and sees this as a lifetime dream job, not a stepping stone, or a final run before retiring. He compares well to the last good prez we had. If I had a vote, he'd get it! 1 Quote

But including your family connections in your resume is a wee bit tacky, no? I mean, a subtle, CASUAL reference in your cover letter is one thing, but to put your freaking family lineage in your resume? When it's completely obvious from your last name anyway? Sounds like something a Kennedy, Vanderbilt, or a British royal would do...not a middle aged man from Grand Forks, even though he is as close to GF/hockey royalty as people are going to get around here. Quote PERSONAL INFORMATION ... Grandfather and Grandmother, Al & Vi Purpur, worked at UND for 39 years each Great Uncle, Fido Purpur, Head Hockey Coach at UND, 1949-1956 Great Uncle, Ken Purpur, played hockey at UND, 1951-1954 Quote
gfhockey Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 We will try our best to get the nerds to hire him Quote

Who cares about the "lineage". It just shows how UND is in his blood. Quote

He name-dropped, plain and simple. You don't need to apologize for him. Just agree with me that it was uber-tacky to do it in a professional resume. Quote

SIOUXFAN97 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 it seems like the logical choice for prez just like RR was for the nickname so it will probably not happen... he would be a great hire for the university AND the athletic department... Quote
SiouxVolley Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Half the faculty and some of the libtards students would hold a starvation fast at Twamley before Purpur gets in. His only chance is if Stanford bestows an honorary doctorate on him. 1 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 With no true academic chops, and no PhD, Fetch has as strong of a chance as Ray Purpur. Quote
