sioux rube Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 McIlroy ruptures his left ankle ligaments while playing soccer with some friends, doubtful for the British Open. Only opens the door a bit more for Speith to get major number 3 for the year. Sucks for Rory but maybe he will still play. Not sure the extent of his injury. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "Ruptured" ligaments? That sounds bad, or do the British use "ruptured" where we'd say "sprained"? Quote
JohnboyND7 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "Ruptured" ligaments? That sounds bad, or do the British use "ruptured" where we'd say "sprained"? I've heard the term ruptured Achilles before. Let's go Lefty! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I've heard the term ruptured Achilles before. Agree. But when I hear "ruptured" ligaments in the ankle, the ankle that all of a right-handed golfer's weight ends up on, I'm not thinking he's going to be playing at the highest level in the world any time soon. Is this the twist of fate that keeps Spieth on the Slam path to the PGA Championship? Quote
sioux rube Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 He is in a boot for 6 weeks. Obviously no Open and now the PGA is unlikely. Quote

Is this the twist of fate that keeps Spieth on the Slam path to the PGA Championship? Oh yes I see what you were saying now. I like Spieth, seems like a nice guy, but I just can't bring myself to cheer for him. Dude has about as much personality as a stapler it seems like. Quote
sioux rube Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 I hope Speith wins the next 2 majors. That would be cool as hell. Personality or no personality matters none to me. Quote
sioux rube Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Spieth with a -7 on Friday and a -10 yesterday after an even par on Thursday at the John Deere Classic. Looks like he is ready for the British Open. Kid has game. Quote
sioux rube Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 Woods with another stellar start. +4 after 7. He is s mess. Meanwhile Spieth striking the ball almost to perfection. -5 after 9 along with Dustin Johnson. Quote

sioux rube Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 Azinger didn't hold back on Woods play today http://www.sportingnews.com/sport/story/2015-07-16/british-open-golf-2015-tiger-woods-cut-struggle-bogeys?eadid=SOC%2FFB%2FSNMain Quote
UND1983 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Wonder which round he'll quit and go home? He'll only be playing two so I would assume he will be in New York by tomorrow night. Quote
sioux rube Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Going to be a Monday finish. Going to try and finish round 2 for those golfers still trying to finish today and play round 3 Sunday and round 4 Monday. The R & A muffed up today bad. Some golfers went out and played 2-3 holes while 10 golfers stood on hole 11 for 45 minutes and never hit a ball. Not fair to the ones who had to pay in those hurricane type winds. Quote
farce poobah Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 For the first time this year, Tiger Woods got to play a major on the weekend. Quote

sioux rube Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Spieth making a run at major number 3. Now at -5 after 12 and tied for the lead at -10. Unreal for a 21 year old. Quote
Shawn-O Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Paul Dunne is a very interesting story. Hope he can hang in there Monday! Quote
Oxbow6 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Paul Dunne is a very interesting story. Hope he can hang in there Monday! Bobby Jones in 1927 last amateur to win the Open. Huge story in the world of sports if he can pull it off. Quote

That would be cool if he did but I'm still pulling for Spieth to get major number 3. If he did it would make the PGA a hell of a lot more interesting. Someone forgot to tell Dustin Johnson that it really was the third round today and not the fourth like it normally is on sunday. 3 over in those perfect conditions? Ouch. Quote

sioux rube Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Dustin has a lot of Segio's make up in him unfortunately. DJ with a 39 on the front and now is -4. The amateur Dunne is showing his nerves. Bogies first hole and sends his drive way right on the second. Spieth birdies first hole. This is going to be fun to watch unfold. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 The "Old Course" ... I liked when they said yesterday that the "New Course" at St. Andrew's is 200 years older than the United States. Quote
