Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 This issue died the moment the State of North Dakota signed that legal agreement with the NCAA. I don't like it that the name and logo are gone, but I also don't think it makes sense to keep banging our heads against the wall when we won't make a dent in it.that's not really the subject anymore...? fightingsioux4life Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 that's not really the subject anymore...? Really? Some people on here haven't accepted the fact that the name and logo are gone and aren't coming back. I have. What say you? Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I can't imagine how - if I could be sure that would be the subject Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 But unofficially the name Fighting Sioux will live forever.....thank you to the vast majority & Ralph...& like has been said many times before - When are many who believe what u do going to change ur names ? ? ? Quote
jdub27 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 In regards to the banner, put the Sioux Logo on every single one of those things...can't wait to hear the NCAA cry over that one... Considering the basketball teams have put up new banners since the settlement agreement and the Fighting Sioux logo doesn't appear on them, I think you're going to be disappointed. Quote

I don't think so - we will know in the hearts of those young men they will (as will we) their real name...Go Sioux! Quote
ScottM Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Wasn't there already a lawsuit on this one or am I on glue? Litigation is a favored approach to "rolling over" in some quarters ... Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Wasn't there already a lawsuit on this one or am I on glue? Could be permanent brain damage ;' ) Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Moveon.org is a leftwing political site. And there are almost as many dillusional nut jobs on this site than there are on that one! (Almost). Quote

I don't like it that the name and logo are gone, but I also don't think it makes sense to keep banging our heads against the wall when we won't make a dent in it. I'm just saying, that nickname is dead and we've been hauling it around like Weekend and Bernie's. It's time to move on. Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Yes it may be ("Officially") But there was a weekend at Bernies II Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Instead of just move on I prefer "Long live the Fighting Sioux" Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Most of us remember who said that & took it to heart Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Now about that AHL Franchise u got any new ideas ? Doesn't seem like Winnipeg is considering us :' ( Quote
UNDBIZ Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Now about that AHL Franchise u got any new ideas ? 1. It isn't going to happen. 2. If, in some alternative universe, it did happen, they'd need to build a new arena to play in. 1 Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I thought someone said before that the average attendance was way below the Ralph....? At most AHL sites Quote
UNDBIZ Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I thought someone said before that the average attendance was way below the Ralph....? At most AHL sites And why would UND allow them to use the Ralph? Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Is it completely up to UND who can use/pay to use the Ralph ? Quote
UNDBIZ Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Is it completely up to UND who can use/pay to use the Ralph ? Perhaps not completely, yet. But UND is contracted as the primary tenant and there certainly isn't ice time available for an AHL franchise. Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Maybe who ever brought this up should have started their own thread - so as not to confuse folks of the reason for this one (like so many of u do all the time) as a failed attempt to discuss the real topic Quote

UNDBIZ Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 im sure it would be challenging but surely more than one team plays in many arenas - your not really very good at this are u Between the men's and women's teams and intramurals, there is not time available. You clearly don't understand how college arenas work. Did you even go to UND? The fact you care more about the nickname than the actual team speaks volumes here. 1 Quote
Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 UND Williston but I went a different direction - but I have been going to SIOUX Hockey for nearly 40 yrs 35 as a season ticket holder....& u ? Quote

Fetch Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 & I CARE FOR THIS TEAM FAR MORE THAN THE CURRENT MISGUIDED ADMIN. I have asked before u think because u went to UND ur more important than other fans ? I don' t know the #s but I'll bet u most season ticket holders for Sioux Hockey are not UND grads Quote
