Matt
If UNI can manage to beat the ac and get home field, they will have a shot. We will see where Montana stands when they go to Fargo in a few weeks. I don't see the rest of the top ten near the level of eastern and the ac. Barring injuries, they seem to be on a collision course to Frisco.
homer
That is a lot of answers after one week of football. Lots of football to be played.
Matt
That is a lot of answers after one week of football. Lots of football to be played. Absolutely. But we know what we've got at #1 and #2. Haven't seen anything else at that level yet. I've seen all I need to see out of SELA, CC, and NH. Montana will tell me a lot in a few weeks. Do you have a dark horse?
homer
There is always a darkhorse that does rise up through out the year, I don't know who that is this year. There are some interesting teams out there to watch. Villanova took a Syracuse team to the wire that was ranked higher than ISU in a majority of preseason polls this year. Was that game a fluke? Can SDSU hang around long enough for Sumner to get back to healthy and have a chance at the postseason? There are east coast teams who recieved multiple transfers during the offseason, as Braden Hanson proved a few years ago, the right fit can win you some games. My point was, we have watched one week. There will be teams who improve dramatically from week 1 to week 2. I watched a special with Mack Brown and Nick Saban and they talked about how you just try and survive week 1 to see what you have in game situations and make adjustments there after. There will be a lot of teams making adjustments after this past weekend so I am not ready to write off every other team except two after a week of play. Oxbow6
I was in Missoula this weekend and watched the Griz game on TV...not real impressed. Johnson wasn't sharp at all unlike when he shredded UND last year...but then again Wyoming does have something that resembles a defense. The Sicatoka
How much will having played Wyoming (Bohl's systems) help Montana at NDSU in a couple weeks?
Matt
How much will having played Wyoming (Bohl's systems) help Montana at NDSU in a couple weeks? It will help Montana, as now at least they see what didn't work, but I think it helps the ac more. They will see how Montana will show in both their basic offensive and defensive approach. They can design alignment calls based on down/distance, formation, etc. Hopefully Montana brings out a bunch of new looks they haven't shown this year or last year on film. Oxbow6
How much will having played Wyoming (Bohl's systems) help Montana at NDSU in a couple weeks? How much will having Bohl call Kleiman about Montana help NDSU is the better question? I would be shocked if the Griz keep it within 2 TDs. I would be shocked if the Griz keep it within 2 TDs. Think Bohl and Klieman still talk? I agree, I don't see this being a real close game. UMs oline will need to improve in a hurry if they are going to stand a chance.

They need to get some guys back.

And I don't see any of our coordinators talking to WYO coordinators, but we will watch and breakdown the film from the WYO/GRIZ game. MafiaMan
So Jacksonville State is the #9 ranked team in FCS...and Michigan State could have hung 100 up on them pretty easily had they wanted to. NDSU wouldn't keep a game with Sparty within 35.
UND-FB-FAN
So Jacksonville State is the #9 ranked team in FCS...and Michigan State could have hung 100 up on them pretty easily had they wanted to. NDSU wouldn't keep a game with Sparty within 35. Michigan State is a top FBS team; NDSU has had success versus FBS teams, but there's no question their consecutive FBS wins have all come against subpar FBS teams. Kansas State was a good win, but even that team was no where near top notch, especially at the beginning of the season with a new starting QB. With that said, it's definitely difficult for FCS teams to beat top 10 FBS teams.

It's hard to swallow, isn't it? Not within 35 huh?! You apparently don't know much abouit college football or football in general then. Yep, all of our FBS wins have come against sub-par FBS teams--how about your wins against FBS teams (and I am not referring to your severasl "moral"/toe-to-toe victories). That SJSU team you got thumped by the other night?!?!? They wouldn't have kept a game against Iowa State within 35. Yes, that's how pathetic your team is, so maybe you wanna quit bashing one that would hang a 100 on you if it really wanted to--and now, even more, I hope we do next year. Not because of your players, but because of your POS, arrogant fanbase!!

mg2009
after week one, the contenders appear to be ndsu, uni, ewu, nova and sela So Jacksonville State is the #9 ranked team in FCS...and Michigan State could have hung 100 up on them pretty easily had they wanted to. NDSU wouldn't keep a game with Sparty within 35. NDSU would handle Jacksonville State pretty easily, but MSU would be a hell of a test. Nope, no keys broke, as I was just stating fact ... and a "hope" for next September in Fargo!! You won't have Bob Entzion on the sideline telling our HC to take the foot off the gas! Bobby Morris should be a good game for you guys. I like how one of your posters stated UND should be able to see improvement in playing them. Will it really be improvement, or will it just be your opponents patheticness (and yes, I know we have to play Weber and Incarnate Word, but at least they are better than UND). Oh, and my anger issues are not "toward UND"; rather, to the extent I have any, they are toward arrogant UND fans. I mean, bashing our FBS wins and extrapolating how NDSU would do against Mich St. based upon a game they played against someone we haven't but is ranked in our subdivision--Pathetic, and classic arrogant UND fan that should like just stick to #butthockey issues and score comparisons!. Give me a break already!!

Agree on some of our stupid, arrogant bandwagon fans. Hell, some at ISU were even yelling and screaming when we had the ball on offense!! Thanks for settling me down. And please beat RM this weekend.
