jodcon Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 UND should push for the BSC title next year if healthy, that plus the 3rd place finish this year despite injury issues should be enough to insure a decent raise for the 14-15 season I would think, his contract runs through 16-17 with the option year and I'd be surprised if they don't revisit it before then if he has 2 or 3 sucessful years in a row. UND-FB-FAN Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 So a sub .500 season in the weakest mid major conference is a success? Good to know where your standards are. UND went 12-8 in conference play, so they certainly did not have a sub .500 season within the Big Sky Conference. Also, UND's 1st-Team All-Big Sky and Mid-Major All-American player was injured during the non-conference schedule and yet UND almost beat Hawaii and South Dakota State. Anyway, your post is not relevant due to factual insignificance. 3 Quote

Cratter Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 You can have a losing season and make the tournament. Success? Quote
JohnboyND7 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 You can have a losing season and make the tournament. Success? UND didn't make the tournement. Rare to see a losing record team make the Dance. Quote
Cratter Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 The point is being sub .500 doesn't make it not a success necessarily. Finishing third in the Big Sky conference in year one is a success. Quote
JohnboyND7 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I sees you didn't answer my question. Anytime you make the tourney as a mid-major the season is a success. Quote
homer Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Didn't he simply point out that UND had a losing season and that can hardly be considered a success? I'm not saying our season was fantastic. We let some games slip. Yet there was an entire thread on your own forum about how different your team was with your best player (Braun) out for some time. Most fans were defending the poor play of your team during that time due to one player being injured. Conveniently though, when you and other FU fans judge UND's team they leave out the fact that we played a majority of our non conference season without a mid-major All-American and our best interior player. Its a pretty convenient arguement to make on your end I suppose. 2 Quote
UND92,96 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 Jones' contract has been extended through 2016-17, and he's getting a raise to $100k, per a Tom Miller tweet. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Didn't he simply point out that UND had a losing season and that can hardly be considered a success? You and Bison Danny boy really need to invest in some extra panties when UND makes the dance. Bisonville's meltdown will be epic, and Saul will likely be tarred and feathered if he isn't dancing too. UND sports sure has some interest on that board. Quote

darell1976 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 http://www.lansingst...oaches-salaries Here is a look at the salaries of men's basketball coaches for the teams in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. The top paid coach is Duke's Mike Krzyzewski with a 2013 total pay of $7,233,976, which is up $2,534,406 from his 2012 total pay of $4,699,570. MSU's own Tom Izzo is fourth. 57. Montana 135,000 (without other monies) 59. South Dakota St 152,000 (without other monies) Brian Jones $100,000. (not sure of any other bonus's.) Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Hopefully Jones and crew can back it up with a memorable season and land big time recruits for next year. This years team cannot make another trip to the CIT, that would be a disappointment in my book. Quote
