UMD, Minnesota, Michigan, Miami

* Well rested UMD proves a tough matchup for BC, just like CC was last year.

* Well rested Minnesota emerges from the group of death.

* Michigan. Argh. I hate to pick them but have to. DU just too depleted.

* Miami an easy road through the anti-group of death.

UMD has to fly to the regional. For BC it's a 45-minute bus ride. UMD plays the late game on Friday. Assuming they beat Maine how do you figure they'll be well rested?

They only played one game last weekend, that's how.

So despite playing in the late game the previous night against a tough opponent they'll be well rested because they played one game the week before? Makes perfect sense. I'm glad I asked.

I always wanted an example of being a smart ass and sarcasm in one paragraph

I love newb fans that think they got "snubbed" by someone because they got a 14th overall seed. They got snubbed by the PWR algorithm.

Even after beating former No. 1 Ferris twice the final weekend of the regular season, smoking Miami and thoroughly dominating Almighty Michigan despite the 3-2 final score, the NCAA snubs the Broncos with a No. 14 seed. That feel good, boys? Use it as motivation. Prove the so called experts wrong!

You're welcome. Now see if you can find someone to explain it to you.

How's that for being a smart ass? :)

When I looked at the records it all made sense. UMD has played only 39 games. BC has played 40.

This.

According to KRACH (the best system for ranking teams, imho), Western Michigan was the #7 team in the country.

Strict brackets based on KRACH:

#1 Boston College vs. #16 Air Force (#37 in KRACH, autobid)

#8 Maine vs. #9 Boston University

#2 Michigan vs #15 Union

#7 Western Michigan vs. #10 Minnesota

#3 North Dakota vs. #14 Northern Michigan

#6 Minnesota-Duluth vs. #11 Denver

#4 Miami vs. #13 Michigan State

#5 Ferris State vs. #12 Mass-Lowell

Yes, I know, the teams could not be seeded this way, but it's interesting to compare these to what the Pairwise spits out.

Cornell is the beneficiary of the Pairwise system (Northern Michigan belongs instead, according to KRACH).

And here's what we actually have (KRACH ratings instead of Pairwise):

#1 Boston College vs. #37 Air Force

#6 Minnesota-Duluth vs. #8 Maine

#2 Michigan vs. #22 Cornell

#5 Ferris State vs. #11 Denver

#15 Union vs. #13 Michigan State

#4 Miami vs. #12 Mass-Lowell

#3 North Dakota vs. #7 Western Michigan

#10 Minnesota vs. #9 Boston University

Sadly. I have BU, UMD, Miami, Michigan. With Miami over BU. I can't bring myself to have the Sioux in Tampa the first FF I have missed since '95.
