Guess UNI and Drake wanted someone more local too. But the MVC could still only take 1 or 2 or 3. Five schools had visits the last time and only Loyola got chosen. Quote

The NW contingent would like that, but don't know the Seattle U would like to play in the hinterlands. Quote

Portland has rarely shown fan interest or an ability to spend and improve. Weber St has a track record that blows PSU away. 2 Quote

SiouxVolley Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Dennis Dodd of CBS reports that Omaha will get an MVC visit tomorrow. No word yet on a Milwaukee visit. 1 Quote
zonadub Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 If the MVC invites Murray St and their football goes MVFC, does Youngstown football go to the Ohio Valley Conference? Quote

We played them, but it wasn't a league game in mbb or wbb or even baseball etc. They had independent schedules because they didn't like the idea of playing away from the coasts. The Big West I think gave them a lot of games OOC. Quote

Youngstown would not be challenged in the OVC, except maybe Jax St. Supposedly, the CAA could look at them, but even that is doubtful as YSU has a JC reputation. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 26, 2017 Author Posted April 26, 2017 Worry about YSU after this round, meaning the MVC, is done deciding. Quote

For 12 teams However, that is two Horizon League teams (Valpo, Milw) and an OVC (Murray State). As I've said, I could easily see the HL moving on IUPUI and IPFW to backfill. And I wonder if the OVC would move on Youngstown in that scenario. That would damage the Summit and potentially the MVFC. Quote

Bison101 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Hopefully 2 Horizon teams are taken and they take Fort Wayne and IUPUI off our hands. Adding the Montana's, Idaho, EWU, and Seattle could make this a really interesting conference. I like the Big North idea. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 So how soon will the formal offers come after they get done visiting these schools? Quote

They were steadfast against a UND WAC but would be in favor of this being FBS. As Liberty has shown, the NCAA can give schools and conferences waivers to be FBS now. The WAC was the only vehicle available to go without a waiver. Quote
