If there was only a couple of G5 slots left, why wouldn't JMU and Mo St have jumped on them? Where are they now, if this rumor is true? Going spastic? Bozoville has already had a meltdown when they heard Coastal and Eastern Ky had FBS interests from the Sun Belt. Having an existing FBS conference making an invite is far cleaner and less expensive. At least the Big Sky has at least one Bowl: the Famous Idaho Potato. The NCAA doesn't like antitrust or restraint of trade lawsuits against them. And the P5 now has a moat so they don't care. A number of FBS school do not want to play FCS schools anymore but paying G5 schools can get expensive. More G5 schools won't impact their revenue streams in anyway and it will increase the potential pool of schools they can schedule and as a result drive down guarantees a bit.
