This is now updated through 25 games. This is how UND's and its opponents' scoring breaks down this year (UND's scoring listed first):

5x3 3-0 (When UND has the 5x3 advantage, it has outscored its opponent 3-0.)

5x4 16-3

5x5 83-35

4x4 9-0

4x5 2-14

3x5 0-2

6x5 1-0 (extra attacker goal)

5x6 4-0 (empty net goal)

Total 118-54

Special teams play has finally swung UND's way. The Sioux are +16 on the PP and -14 on the PK.

Although some games have been a struggle lately, the best numbers are the Goals Allowed in the last five games: 0, 2, 2, 1, 1.

Edit: We are ranked 4th in the WCHA on the PP with 19.4%

Crap we have dropped last week we were in third.

Will the Sioux play Parise in nets again against Wisconsin??

Good question, who knows??

I bet the players don't even know...

Maybe some light will be shed tonight during the Coach's Show.

Brandt is the man at least on Friday night. Going by what happened last week, I would not be surprised to see Jake between the pipes on both nights.

May I remind you JPar was defensive player of the week and the sole reason the Sioux won on Saturday night. My bet is Brandt gets the start Friday due to more experience in the "hostile" environment and barring a shutout JPar starts Saturday.

DB commented last weekend that he will likely give Brandt the start this Friday because he has more experience in hostile environments.

I hope no one makes a claim to UND not having a very good defense or them being less than moble. Thats stiffling defense in anyone's book...

...but the Sioux are ahead or tied 81% of the time. Makes it a little easier on the defense. Nevertheless, anyone who puts down a defense that surrenders only 2.15 goals per game has no clue what a good defense is.

I think this stat is amazing considering all the 5 on 3's we've faced. Does anyone know how many times we've been 2 men down?

I hope Brandt plays Friday. The last thing we need is for him to lose confidence like last year.

We've gotta be in the top 5 in the WCHA, if not the NCAAs in number of times we've been down 2. We're certainly among the most penalized teams in the NCAAs altogether.

I find it odd that UMD is 20th in the nation yet second to last in the WCHA. They must be like a timebomb just waiting to detonate during nonconference games. That should serve them well come national playoff time

Check out these numbers. This is UND's goals scored on Friday, then on Saturday, for each weekend in the new year:

4,3

6,2

8,4

4,1

6,1

3,2

5,1

Yikes! That's 36 in 7 Fridays, and 14 in 7 Saturdays. It's also just 5 goals in the last 4 Saturdays. Whatever's causing that, please fix it. Thank you.

As for the penalty minutes, just give us Hunt, Sheperd, and Anderson a few more times and we'll pass Mankato. I'm sure of it.

Are there any refs you LIKE??

Blais has been rolling only 3 lines recently, I believe.  Might tire them out from Fri. to Sat.?

Maybe CB should put in players on the 4th line he can count on, some with experience....not palyers with 5 college games of experience or a defenceman slightly turned forward. Can't understand the logic in that one.
