jimdahl Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Game Day! Not only is it UND's first game against a Big Sky opponent since pledging to join the conference, but Montana also vowed to stay in the Big Sky earlier this week! Some highlights from the football news page... UND true to self during transition - Missoulian Nov. 10 Like the 3-4 defense, a look that goes back decades in Grand Forks. Brought on to battle North Dakota State's deadly option attack, it stuck around after NDSU and most everybody else went pro-style. Mussman hopes to limit those mistakes, and adds: "I'm not going to be coy - you'll see both (QBs) in the game." This game will be the first between UM and UND since 1973, and the first in Missoula since 1963. Four Griz "home" games were played in Billings. Second season begins for Griz - Missoulian Nov. 12 North Dakota has a pair of talented running backs in Josh Murray and Mitch Sutton to deal with - along with a big-play receiver named Greg Hardin, a 166-pound freshman who has nine touchdowns receiving and another rushing. That and a unique 3-4 defense pose problems for a Griz team that had won five straight before the Weber loss. The week off was welcome, to perhaps sooth some injuries and get realigned on offense. Trouble is the Fighting Sioux don't just pass - they run, and they line up in multiple formations including the "Pistol." It's a high-octane offense that, like UM's, is meant to be up-tempo and put defenses on their heels. "They have different formations we have to line up to," said UM defensive end Ryan Fetherston. "We need to see it on the field, line up and get our calls out and get our checks out. And they're a very good team - we know they're a good team." WYOBISONMAN Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 It is too bad this one isn't on Directv. After my lousy streaming experience last night with the NDSU/Oregon BB game I am about ready to go over to our local internet service provider and club someone. The feed in Fargo was evidently fine. The price paid for living in the Outback I guess..... Quote
