Siouxhockey03
I've been posting on the Minnesota H.S. Hockey Message Board for a couple days, asking if anyone has info. on recruits like Ammerman and Hardwick. The people have a great knowledge of the players, whom many know personally. Warroad11, posted this: Rumor in town has it that hes made his mind up but hasn't said to where. I'm guessing you will see him at UND. UMD got his brother but with Oshie going to UND and some of the other kids going there I do believe it will be UND. I do think you can take the U of M out of the running for him though
jk
If another of those players decided to come to UND, it would be great news. However, I think it's worth noting that even though message board participants (at POI, here and the HS board) may really like a certain player, it doesn't mean the coaches are necessarily as high on him. It should be fun to see it develop.
jk
Ryan Duncan just hit the century mark for the year. In 52 games, he is 49-52-101. Congrats.

amn5hol
http://www.ushl.com/stats0304.cfm?id=trans...%20Transactions Some interesting transactions in the USHL yesterday.... Lincoln picks up Kyle Hardwick Lincoln drops Jesse Lindenberg (Grafton) Sioux Falls picks up Matt Moreland (Grand Forks - already have Kasey Moreland on the team)
Siouxhockey03
It looks like Zajac is starting to run away with the points lead in the BCHL. He now has 105 points in 53 games!!!!!!!!

redwing77
POI People are saying Spirko is going to UMN... Heisenberg site is down so I don't know for sure... perhaps that info was old.
diggin42
Nothing about Spirko on Heisenberg as of 8:37 p.m. tonite, but it does show Siembida catching on with Quinnipiac. Based on the 2001 GL Invitational alone, I wish him all the best.

sagard
What POI thread talks about Spirko? The thread on POI talking the most about Spirko is the recent one about "Future Gopher", but to me it is nothing but speculation. The person that said the Gophers had Spirko was kidding that the Gophers had landed Bertram, Bradford, and Kessel as well. Clearly still available. PhillySioux
Zajac loses scoring title on final weekend of regular season. http://www.bchl.bc.ca/stats_hockey.cfm?lea...=1413&link=BCHL
siouxnami
Wow... Greentree must be a hell of a player. The points were close but he had almost 20 goals on Zajac. Where is he headed MJs?
dagies
Zajac was busy setting up Chucko's goals. I thought I read somewhere Greentree was going to Alaska Fairbanks but don't quote me on that. AF landed several top BCHL'ers but the discussion (on USCHO?) was that they may not be the best skaters which is why they weren't picked up by more prominent D1 schools. Take that for what it is worth because at the very best I'm repeating from memory information I read posted on a message board by people like most of us. So maybe I shouldn't even have typed it here........

ScottM
Greentree committed to UAF last year, I believe ... then again, I'm really too lazy to look.
The Sicatoka
Hey, the last recruit to finish second in BCHL scoring and go to UND isn't all that bad of a player.
sprig
Greentree committed to UAF last year, I believe ... then again, I'm really too lazy to look. Correct. (Edit: that he committed to UAF, couldn't confirm the lazy part )
redwing77
They may not be the best skaters but didn't they say that about Bochenski?
Kermit
http://www.cjahl.com/e/media/2003-04/03-04-pr_22.html This is old, but interesting info on Travis Zajac. Sounds like he'll fit in nicely. "..Centre Travis Zajac, 18, of Salmon Arm is listed 20th by central scouting, among North American forwards and defencemen. He is the highest rated player in the Canadian Junior 'A' Hockey League. "Travis started in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League as a 16-year-old," said Davidson. "He came here as a 17-year-old (in 2002-03). "It's exciting to see his progress. He's certainly among the three or four best players in the league. "He's a terrific defensive player, too, and among the best in the league. He's very responsible and well rounded." The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Zajac is third in the league with 85 points in 45 games. He is fourth in the league with 39 goals."
Rick
They may not be the best skaters but didn't they say that about Bochenski? I've heard chatter that TJ Oshie's skating needs a lot of work. I haven't seen him play this year (other than on TV), but people with Olympic Gold Medals in hockey and other hockey coaches tell me that Oshie's agility is second to none in Minnesota High School hockey. They also say that there is nobody stronger on their skates than Oshie is. You can't knock him off the puck, and if you try to, you end up on your rear end. I'm told that his skating will be better than Bochenski's. If that's the case, and he has hands like Bochenski's, then I'm not going to be too worried about it. When he was a Sophomore at Warroad, he was on a line with Selvog who led all of Minnesota in scoring. Maybe that was because of Oshie. Anyway, Oshie and Brian Lee are juniors in high school and Lee is probably the best defenseman in Minnesota HS hockey. With RJ Anderson going to Minnesota, they will no doubt say he is the top defenseman. We'll have to wait and see, but Brian Lee's upside is huge. dagies
I was one of those that made comments about Oshie's skating. Of course, I'm a seasoned hockey talent scout. That was just my opinion from watching him on tv. I will say he didn't look very fast, but again, that can all be relative. Anyway, hope no one took my comments as criticism because I certainly didn't mean them that way.
UNDProud
According to Dean Blais I doubt any one will be leaving early. At the Sioux Boosters lunch he's pretty sure the NHL is going to be on a walkout next year.
sagard
Where did you hear that RJ Anderson is going to Minnesota? I know that the Sioux were/are very interested in him. There was an article in the Strib this weekend that indicated that he would commit to the "U" after the tourney. Weaker than a verbal to be sure. Lee looked very good to me at the tourney, as did RJ Anderson.
