franchise Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I'm extremely disappointed with Schroeder this season. I picked the guy at the beginning to be among the candidates for player of the year....instead his buddy Barribal gets hurt and he doesn't do anything the entire season. I couldn't believe that the empty net goal that he scored on UND was only his ninth goal of the season. Probably one of the more talked about recruits coming to the University of Minnesota, and other than his rookie season I would probably call his career a bust. I agree with a previous poster, it was nice that he only put his whole heart into the world junior tournament, and not into WCHA play. Hey, the USA won gold, and to top it off, the gophers didn't make the final five! I thought the exact same thing. I did a double take. I guess I just assumed he was quietly getting his share. Quote
redwing77 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 If Irmen can make it to the NHL, even if it is for a cup of coffee, I think Lucia can too. Unfortunately for Tony, he's on a team that isn't desperate enough to need it. Quote
Upper Deck Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Saw this on USCHO about Ness - article not exactly shedding good light on the Gopher program Quote
tho0505 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 You are comparing a two years you know. Some may say Soph. Slump. I think no Stoa hurt him. No heart hurt him, no help either. Quote
mikejm Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Boy, that's a blistering indictment of the Gopher program! One of the comments is interesting: should Ness transfer? When's the last time a Gopher player transferred? Quote

When's the last time a Gopher player transferred? would be so hard for him to transfer sitting a year for development but he may be young enough to go major juniors?? im not sure on his age. not a good article for the gophs program Quote
The Whistler Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 OUCH!!! Man, does the truth hurt or what? On the other hand the Islanders (and I) seem to want Jason Gregoire to play for the Sioux another year. Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 On the other hand the Islanders (and I) seem to want Jason Gregoire to play for the Sioux another year. Honestly, I think Gregoire could make the jump. He's been a complete player for us. Whether on the PP, PK or 5x5. But I don't mind at all if the Islanders want Gregoire to play another year at UND. SiouxFanatic Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Hunter Bishop, sophomore for Ohio State and former Fighting Sioux forward signed a 2-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=521828 Thought he deserves an honorable mention. Quote
