farce poobah Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Too bad there's nobody named Tears. For Tears, we need Tonya Lucia.
LeftyZL Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Frattin scores! Man, if Trupp could shoot the puck as well as he passes it, he would have a bunch of goals this year instead of being snake bit.
YaneA Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 2-1 Sioux 8 minutes to go in 2nd and Hexy goes to box on interference phantom call
fargosioux Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Now 2-0 UMD on a PPG. From Brad: If UMD wins, the Sioux clinch home ice. If the Gophers win, UND climbs into a tie for 4th. Not sure I understand this. How can a UMD win clinch us home ice? If we lose tonight, we're still in a tie for 5th with CC with one week left to play.

If we lose tonight, we're still in a tie with CC with one week left to play. Because the gophers are behind CC in the standings. A UMD win means a UM loss, and that's what clinches home ice for us.
BigGreyAnt41 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 That was a pretty goal. Nice move by Kristo. Haven't seen many like that from him. He usually takes the shot instead of being patient and waiting out the goalie. Very nice move.
Let'sGoHawks! Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Too bad there's nobody named Tears. After tonight, hopefully that is the CC fanbase. Weak, I know, but couldn't resist.
BigGreyAnt41 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Not to talk about another game in this thread, but Hjelle just made a nice glove save on a gopher breakaway.

If we lose tonight, we're still in a tie for 5th with CC with one week left to play. They are also assuming the Sioux sweep this weekend. Otherwise it would not be possible to catch Duluth tonight if we lost.
fargosioux Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Because the gophers are behind CC in the standings. A UMD win means a UM loss, and that's what clinches home ice for us. Sorry, but still not getting it. A UMD win keeps them in 4th. If we'd lose tonight to CC, we'd be tied with them for 5th and could still technically get passed by them next week for the final (5th) home ice spot, couldn't we?

You're right, he must be assuming (expecting, hoping for) a Sioux win, as well.
fargosioux Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Thanks TJ for showing Kristo a few tips What did his celebration look like?
YaneA Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Penalty on Tigers. Kristo, do that PPG thing you do so well!
Cratter Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Because the gophers are behind CC in the standings. A UMD win means a UM loss, and that's what clinches home ice for us. I don't believe its true. I may be wrong. UMD wins. (plus the other two remaning games) Sioux loss the rest of theirs games (including tonight). CC wins the rest of theirs. UND would not be in fifth place. No way does a UMD win tonight guarantee a UND clinch of home ice tonight.
