FIRE HELMET GUY #26
No, the bad luck is from dying your hair like high school or whatever supersition has lead to UND and HC ending the Gophs season 3 out of the 4 last years. Yeah, the way it sounds they are not doing any of that crap this year.....thank GOD! What are they supposed to do otherwise, grow the porno-staches like the Sioux did last year!? brianvf
The 2nd Duncan goal was given to VV. So all those people can go to the Ralph tomorrow between the time of noon and 2pm and pick up their hats. Thank you.
MissSioux85
Where was Watty? Shaving? Haha! I didn't even realize Watty was missing until I got home and started looking through my pics. I guess he didn't get the memo.

Sucks, but oh well, doesn't really matter because it was special at the time and I'm sure it meant alot to Ryan and the fans. Better that way than getting credit for a hatty after the fact and no celebration.
yzerman19
On many replays, I don't think VV touched it. He swatted at it, but it didn't change direction. He might've touched it, but it looked like DUnc to me...I thought VV got it at first, but in super slow-mo I think he missed it. I'm sure Dunc could care less...He got credit for it on USCHO

Everywhere I look (SiouxSports/USCHO/CHN) all have Duncan getting the hatty in the box score.

His second goal was credited to Chris VandeVelde, who did get a piece of it with a tip. The goal was changed about 30 minutes after the game. UND apologizes to all sportswriters for ruining their stories on deadline and to fans who lost their hats in the second period.

Oxbow6
Tech scores 3 goals this weekend on the PP! If UND can't work out it's PK problems, teams with some actual offensive talent are going really start giving UND problems because those teams will be able to generate offense 5 on 5 unlike Tech. To lazy to look but I would guess from the CC series forward, UND is killing about 75% of it's penalties...not good enough!

I used to give "grades" after every weekend series but I stopped because it didn't prove anything. But yeah, if I were I'd say the Sioux PK earned 2009's first F grade. Simply outstandingly bad. And no, I don't care what the circumstances or bounces were like. Those were some atrocious PKs.

I'll attribute some of bad PK's on the absence of LaPoint. It really limits options because one time I remember I think Finley got a penalty so they had Blood on the PK. Other people need to step up and get the job done in the absence of missing players. So basically, no more penalty killers can get injured. I thought the penalty kill wasn't that bad against Wisco, but the powerplay was terrible. This weekend I thought the PK wasn't so good and the powerplay was not great, but better than it was against Wisco.
