Smoggy
The great thing about the OLN announcers is that every time they talk about Hale, Parise or Commodore they always mention that they went to the University of North Dakota.

Siouxmama
While watching the Oilers game and the announcers also mentioned Matt Greene as being from the "NCAA collegiate powerhouse North Dakota". It's great to hear these guys talking about the college teams that the players are coming from. You hear lots of WCHA names.

Yes and in fact in the San Jose-Edmonton game the first goal was scored by Tom Preissing, a former WCHA(Colorado College) player. That's always nice to see. Sioux_Hab-it
Where are you watching this game? On the home TV here in Ottawa. If you have Center Ice they should be carrying the feed in the US. At least they did in the past. If not you can listen to it by going to the USA Ice Hockey Web site. First period is over still 1-0 USA and the shots were 9-5 for Canada
sprig
Crosby tied it in the 2nd and Shanahan has given Canada a 2-1 lead in the third. You can follow here if you're not listening to the audiocast. 2 minutes left.
Sioux_Hab-it
It has ended at 2-1 for Canada. Stafford didn't look out of place and had one of USA's better shots on net in the third period. It would also appear that he is over his knee injury.

Goon
Speaking of Commodore they featured him and his robe on Don Cherry's Coaches Corner tonight and Cherry has agreed to wear the robe for a future show if the Canes advance. Me thinks that Commie is going to win the bet. The Canes are on fire right now getting all of the right bounces. The Canes are a different team since Ward got hot, Gerber is now the forgotten man between the pipes. Commie was pictured on the ice wearing a white robe with rubber shoes, it was a cool segment. DAR
Commodore just got into a fight with Langenbrunner, 2 minutes each. Score: Canes- 2, Devils -1 It was not what you would call a fight....they each fot 2 minute minors. John Davidson was commenting on how he could not believe how much Commodore has improved this year. He gets a lot of ice time and is a regular on the penalty kill. He has come along way from his freshman season to a NHL regular. His red curls go well with the Canes uniforms. Sioux_Hab-it
Matt Greene got a fair share of the ice time in Edmontons 3-2 win. He also got a couple of good shots off from the point and nearly had the first goal of the game.

NDFAN
Looks like Matt Greene was on the ice for the GWG in last night's Oilers game! His picture is at the top of the story in the USAToday online. Good to see he's getting some playing time in OT. What happened to the Devils and Senators? Not that I'm complaining, but where's Vanek? I don't know what happened to the Devils but it would appear that the Sens had it too easy in the regular season and can't deal with a team that pressures them with speed. As for Vanek, his playing time has been limited due to his lack of defensive play. After the Philly series you could still see Ruff picking pieces of Vanek's left ear from out of his teeth. #1siouxfan22
This is where Vanek is. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=165459&hubname=nhl Thomas Vanek is the most likely candidate to take Connolly's spot. Vanek was second on the team in goals scored during the regular season. The Austrian was a healthy scratch in the first two games of the series, both won by Buffalo, because Ruff opted to use Taylor Pyatt, who is more responsible defensively
