  1. Miles Jack is likely going to drop on draft day. His knee is a mess.

    2016 Season

That is correct. He'll be back in the summer.
  3. The original question was does the hockey team's success help or hurt football recruiting. I don't think there is a clear answer... I'd say that it depends on the individual and what they are looking for in a program. I've talked to athletes on both sides of the coin on this issue.

Providing insider info on this site has proven to be tough for the poster.
  5. I know this doesn't fit into the "hate NDSU" narrative, but the NFL draft trumps the MLB draft in media coverage and national interest 100 fold.

He took his finals last semester.

I have no idea why some people are so eager to take the bait from NDSU fans. Just ignore them. The mods have repeatedly said they are not interested in banning them, so ignore them and they'll be less likely to post.
  8. I agree. They are useless for FCS level recruits.
  9. According to NFL.com, 16 of the 32 first round draft choices last year were 3 stars coming out of high school. There was one 2 star first rounder and zero 1 or 0 star recruits in the first round. (I don't know which service provided the star rankings.) To to say that star rankings are inaccurate is, well, accurate. But to say that zero star recruits have about the same potential as 3 and 2 star recruits is not supported by the facts. NDSU's roster has players that across the board have higher rated star players than UND. They thrashed us and won the national championship again. We can come up with isolated examples of 5 stars amounting to nothing and 0 stars becoming NFL Hall of Famers. But statistically rating services are more right than wrong, and more talent beats less talent more often than not. Give me higher rated players every day of the week.
  10. I think we can agree that having to rely on incoming freshmen for 2 or even 3 deep depth is not ideal (unless there is a special talent like Grady). Here's hoping for OL health in 2016.
  11. For sure you could make a strong argument that we are thin at T, too. This year's spring game will likely have two healthy centers, two healthy guards (yikes) and four (I think?) healthy tackles. Ideally we should be three deep at all positions without the incoming freshmen.
  12. Shawn Kostich posted on his FB that #omahawk was the "last big piece" in this class.
  13. We are dangerously thin at G and C.
  14. Good point guys. I know he was recruited and offered by Mussman. I'd forgotten that he committed to Bubba.
  15. Keaton was a Mussman recruit.
  16. I've seen folks on this site that are upset when recruits commit to a school and then flip to another school. I understand where they are coming from but schools can do the exact same thing: an athlete gives a verbal commitment to a school then two weeks before signing day they tell you they no longer have room: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/columnists/ct-michigan-s-jim-harbaugh-showing-his-true-colors-and-they-re-ugly-20160121-column.html
  17. That makes more sense. No one would ever choose SW MN St. over UND.
  18. It would be great to snag Russo. He plays high but I like that he's able to get out and take on linebackers.
  19. Also considering that there were 5 OL commits last year and only two are still with the program.
  20. I appreciate the question but I will not speculate on that.
  21. He has hung up his spikes. He will pursue his degree elsewhere.
  22. He is fine. It was his choice to leave school. Best of luck to a terrific young man.
