  1. Using that same logic Sioux83 perhaps the players should not drink water during practice. After all it worked for Vince Lombardi.
  2. My point is that the definition of an "offer" with many Power 5 schools has changed. Most of them are non-committable offers. In other words, they are not really offers. If Ohio State gives you an "offer" there is a very good chance they would not accept your commitment. They simply want you to know that they are interested.
  3. Many Power 5 schools give out non-committable offers, but an offer nonetheless, to let recruits know they are interested. Maybe this has trickled down to UND and the FCS.
  4. Has the staff changed how many offers they have given for this time of year?
  5. Outstanding year for OLs in Minnesota.
  6. Incoming freshman must pay (NCAA rule) to live with an upperclassman (dorms are not ready yet) and do not receive any aid for food.
  7. Same with a number of the OLs. Some are staying with Studsrud.
  8. Great news. They have been working on him for a while... good to see that they got him on campus.
  9. No harm in throwing out an offer to McBride, but I wouldn't think that too many people with multiple full ride MAC offers would attend UND or many other FCS schools (NDSU being an exception recently). Have we gotten many FBS offered kids in recent years?
  10. I think they look fantastic.
  11. It's not for us. It's for recruits/players. I'm curious if anyone has talked to any players to see what they think.
  12. Matte green helmets! It looks great! Just tweeted by SFI.
  13. By the way... I'm not saying any of this type of behavior is right. It's not in the best interest of the student athletes and it should be stopped.
  14. Both are arrogant asses to be sure, but that doesn't mean it is not standard operating procedure. Here is another example... not apples to apples because both schools are FBS, but it's clear that coaches can and do do this across the country: "Wes Lunt was the starting quarterback for Oklahoma State last season, but he decided to transfer due to poor communication regarding the quarterback situation, according to Joe Schad of ESPN. Lunt's transfer options were extremely limited. According to Kerker, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy wasn't going to allow him to play for a Big 12, Pac-12 or SEC school. He was also banned from playing for Southern Miss, which is now coached by Todd Monken, the former offensive coordinator for Oklahoma State."
  15. Do we know for a fact that there aren't many FBS schools that would limit their players playing time at an FCS school? This may be true, but just wondering if you know this for a fact.
  16. Brian Kelly, head coach at Notre Dame, is limiting where Everett Gohlston can transfer to: "Former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson won’t be lining up under center for the Fighting Irish in 2015, and according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, he won’t be lining up on the other side of the field from them either. Feldman is reporting Sunday night that Notre Dame is not granting a release for Golson to play at any of the schools on the team’s 2015 schedule, along with “several” Big Ten teams." It appears that what Bohl has done is standard operating procedure for coaches.
  17. I'm in favor of what recruits like. That's what this is all about - and should be IMO. It shouldn't be about any coaches likes or dislikes. There are limits, of course. Traditions count as do budgets. But in the end college football is about recruiting and if high schoolers like matte helmets than go get them. .
  18. What is the temp? How is the wind?
  19. Ugh. How awful. Way too soon. RIP.
  20. It's a surprise that anyone scored on Lakeville North this past season. What an impressive group of talented players!
  21. A coach told me it was spelled Sudsrud.
  22. A coach told me the same about Sudsrud.
