Hopefully he stays a true Sioux and keeps repping the University like Parise or Oshie or Greene. Sadly, I haven't seen a lot of love for UND outta Toews, but maybe I'm missing it.

Current student- didnt know that. While obviously not the case (my personal opinion here) we feel like we almost are expected to stay in the student tailgate lot and not move around and are segregated from the public. I think the university needs to promote the mingling of groups. Also, the thing is for our current seats those that show up and sit down low chirp the bench all game. If moving students prevents that, can we expect the general public to pick that job up? I doubt it. Though honestly, the biggest factor to get students there is to win. So UND can't go out and crap the bed in the first few home games - no matter what happens on the road.

I know we've had a discussion like this before, but the general public isn't exactly out the door to take those seats anyways. And once they're gone, the University wont feel particularly pressured to give them back if they get money on it. Decreasing the student section size (or moving them) is not a fix for attendance problems. To my understanding, people like standing over the end zones as well.

Anyone think we might get a night home game this season? As a student, I would love for one of the early season games to be a night game instead of the 2:00 time.

Supposedly, in conjuction with the city of Minneapolis, theyre going to put in a new ice cooling thingy which should help ice conditions. Dont know when that is supposed to be done though. But even with the renovations, and having been to one tournament at both the X and the Target Center, I can't imagine that it will ever surpass the X as a hockey facility. Therefore if a favorable opportunity to move the NCHC Frozen Faceoff to the X, they need to do it.

Can't say that wouldn't be warranted. Haven't even made the NCAA tournament in the 3 years of being a student. I realize it's tough when Wisco and Minny are in our conference, but we've taken a step back now behind Bemidji too. Something needs to happen, or change should.

Do we have a list of all the recruits coming in for this season? There's a lot of talent that needs replacing.

Up until this weekend, I never knew MSL was a UFA coming out of college. After hearing the comparison, I really hope that he ends being just as big of a player for some team as Marty was. The guy has worked so hard, and it has been a huge joy to have watched this guy as a student over the last three years. Best of luck Drake! I'll miss having us students always counting on you.

Moving away from the logo on the banners - my buddy who works at the Ralph says they are going to be moving them around somewhat. Scuttlebut is they will be moving the conference banners to the sides over the student section and such, and the 8 title banners will be split 4/4 alternating across chronologically.

My take on the situation. High Risk: Paul LaDue - Almost as good as gone. Medium Risk : Nick Schmaltz - There's a chance, but I think it would be better for Chicago to hold off on bringing him in for a year especially after signing Motte. Also could use another year of development (see the strides made between last year and this year.) Brock Boesser - With Vancouver likley being a dumpster fire, I think the Canucks are better off leaving him down here. Matej Tomek - After seeing zero playing time this year and now having to be behind Cam for likely another year or two, he'll look to transfer. Shouldnt be a problem finding a place to bring him on. Low Risk: Stecher - Out of everyone in this risk group, he would be the one to leave. But the guy just bleeds Green and White so I dont see him going anywhere. Pogo - Not a chance St. Louis wants to bring him up. They are in the playoffs, in a decent cap situation and the guy could use at least another year in college. Unless a major development happens, he will be a four year player. Luke Johnson - Needs some major work on game style before going pro. No Risk: Everyone else.

See I think Nick stays. Yes, Chicago needs some new ELC contracts due to their cap situation, but they just signed Motte so Schmaltz probably would be more valuable to be signed next year and not this off-season.

Yea. Personally - I'm not so sure thats the best thing for them in the long run. Rumor I heard thrown around is that they wanted Mel Pearson but he either wasn't able or willing to move so Red is around another year.

Watching the ESPN highlights, they just said we were North Dakota State. A week or so ago, they were talking about NDSU and used our interlocking ND. How difficult is it to do just a little research to figure out which school is which. They've done this for years!
