Could something like this happening to a big team like the US eventually lead to that rule being changed?

Is the US allowed to file a complaint to the IIHF about the goal call? Also, whats the rule on goal horns for teams at world tournaments? I find it weird that they are allowed to use the horn for only them...

Was at the game tonight. I feel horrible for Banham. That was just a bad injury. I could hear her cry out in pain, which made it all the worse seeing her teammates cry. Hope she can get a medical redshirt if it is a torn ACL, otherwise it'd be a poor way to end your collegiate career.

Out of curiosity, is the source trustworthy or could this just be a rumor?

A national championship and a win over NDSU. But in all seriousness, in terms of recruiting or player development, I would like a QB that we can rely on to be able to make passes throughout the whole game and some O -linemen that can protect him. I'm hoping Studsrud is this guy, however I haven't seen enough of it. How did he look today against UNC? I also hope we can get a corner that can do eve half the stuff that TIllman can.

So, do we have a list then of all the players committed right now? Seems that the Wiki isn't quite all there.

I'm thinking Oregon. I've heard some rumblings about that one, though nothing like ASU. Why do you think those teams bolt? ASU isn't going to go out and form a new conference, unless it's the PAC-12, and if they do it'll be a while. WIll take some time for other PAC-12 schools to get a d1 program up and running, if there is even interest.

I think it would be good for college hockey. With a big time school like that interested in hockey, it would draw some other programs in and expand the game aorund the nation and in the south. It might also help with recruiting and keeping kids out of the CHL. As to the conference, the only feasible ones they would join would be either the WCHA or the NCHC. And you can bet the NCHC would make a major push. The only other option would be to get at least 5 other PAC-12 schools to start a hockey program, which doesn't seem possible at the moment.

No clue who he was with, but Hakstol was at Squires Dining Center this morning with who appeared to be a potential recruit on a visit. So, there will probably be atleast one recruit at the game tonight.

Well, Studsrud looks like a better QB in terms of ability over Mollberg/Bartles, but he is making plenty of freshman mistakes. Hope he can learn from them and take it into next year.

But what are you looking to accomplish by doing that? Like I said, Grand Forks isn't exactly lining up at the doors to get tickets, so those sections will be just as unfilled as before.

And spread the rest of the general public out? I'd completely understand taking student sections away if there was demand for them, but there just isn't enough demand in grand forks to justify it. Those sections that you propose moving are rarely full anyways.. And for the most part, the sections on the 50 are more full for students as opposed to the ones off to the side. You move us down you also take away us heckling the players on the bench too. I suppose you probably dont care about that at all, but that is part of the fun for us.

At the Alerus? I really dont think it matters if the games aren't selling out to the general public anyways. If there was point that it was selling out and students were gone, Id be in favor of it.

I know there has been a debate here recently about student attendance. As a current student, let me give you what I believe to be my insight into attendance problems here and at the Ralph. Lets focus on football first. The biggest problem is the football program is viewed as a joke on campus. Students on social media constatnly make fun of the team. Until the team is "respectable" ,and what we as students define as respectable is beyond me, attendance will not be high. The ushers and rules at the football game are significantly less of a problem than one might think (I will go into more detail on the Ralphs ushers later.) Very rarely have they come down, to where I can see them( I'm usually front row though, so oblivious to whats going on behind me.) As for what "incentives" could be used to draw more students to the games, I' not 100% sure. I know that quite a few students enjoy the fact that the football team comes over for high fives after the game, win or lose. I guess Athletics and the Alerus could find ways to make the students feel more welcome. Maybe getting the band to play more than one song a season facing us would make us feel more important? For tailgaiting, we feel disconnected from the rest of the crowd. It's like it was an afterthought to give students a tailgate lot and gave them the only lot they had left. Nothing is involved over there besides the NoDak nation tent, and whatever little table they occasionally have near the tent. Weather is also a huge factor in how the turnout is for tailgaiting Now for hockey. I know the Ralphs ushers are a lot more... invasive, than the ones at the Alerus. It seems like they try to limit the students much more than they should. I am a sophomore, and it is my understanding that the Students were once able to stand in the lower deck and would be allowed more freedom to heckle the players in the penalty box. I think the new student incentives for prior to the game will help. But as too what else can be done, Im not 100% sure.

Out of curiosity, is there any chance we bring in a QB next season that has the potential to replace Mollberg?
