Well it's good to know NDSU couldn't win big at the DII level when they didn't have an advantage (more money/scholarships). To me it's interesting that Rocky and NDSU fans would want to defend the reduction in scholarships as the reason they declined. To me this is like saying, yep.....we had an advantage over other schools since they didn't have as much money to spend, but when that went away our dominance went away.

Fun watching that video........Dressler = Class Act It was fun watching our defense shut the run down last year, but it will be nice when our offense is actually fun to watch again and can make some big plays.

I think that is being pretty optimistic!! Going from 99 in the pass to 25 is quite the leap. I'd be happy if we moved up to 50 in pass, that would be a big improvement. Also, I think we will be a top 10 rush defense and certainly could be in the top 5 again. However like people have mentioned, our run defense was tough and we were weak in pass defense so people gave up running the ball. So yes we were top 5 in run last year, but we were number 5 not number 1. So given the amount of teams getting in the top 5 is pretty impressive so I wouldn't bank on top 5 again this year as a guarantee. Especially if our pass defense is a little better people will run the ball more it would be easy to slip down to 6 or 7, but that is still pretty good! And top 5 in total defense....wow to me that is super optimistic in my opinion. It was awesome watching the run defense shut people down last year though, I'm looking forward to more of that. Teams might be a little more prepared for our defense next year as it's the second time around.

My early prediction for the game is 31-13 NDSU. Hopefully after the first two games our offense will show something and give me some confidence that it will be closer.

I would agree, pretty much everything that could have gone wrong last year did. We started the year with a number of holes already and many things that needed to be worked on. Then on top of that we got nailed with tons of injuries during . By the end of the season our starting QB was a redshirt freshman that was on the scout team a week before he had his first start. I wonder how NDSU, or any team for that matter had to finish up the second half of their season with their true freshman scout team QB. Anyway, is it possible to just ignore a users posts. This would be such a better thread without no clue nosidel. Let's just ignore every comment he makes and maybe he'll go away. Let's stop trying to convince him of anything, I honestly don't care what he says or thinks. Wait....who am I talking about again.....I don't remember, nor do I care to. Now for me, I'm definitely not going to sit here and try to argue to anybody about how good we'll be next year. Our defense will be good, but our offense has a lot to prove.

Nosidel it's unofficially summer time now.....you should get out and broaden your horizons a bit more instead of multiple posting on another teams fan site on a Saturday. Live a little.

Since I've lived down in AZ for about 3 years now I haven't been to any of the recent UND-NDSU basketball games or anything, so I can't comment if the games were boring or how the atmosphere was. I think the football teams playing will help the rivalry in the other sports, there is just something about the football game.....that is a different animal. I agree though that not being in the same conference and playing every year takes away a little of the urgency or importance of the games. Although since fewer games in a football season, one loss can make a difference. Since they won't be playing until 2019 again, some of the rivalry part may wear off a little until the next time again. Hopefully there will be a playoff matchup before 2019.

I don't think we have to jump on Bison73, I do remember him previously saying that he felt there were many Bison fans who wanted the game and thought it would be a big, exciting game on the schedule. He actually has rational thoughts from what I recall. Now Nosidel, he is blind. Although he did just say that people he talk to are divided, so that means some don't want it, but some definitely do. Previously he seemed to always say NO NDSU fans want the game, the students done care.....etc. etc. etc. Sounds like he is contrasting himself, now saying people are divided. By the various facts that we've already seen, it is obvious there is interest on the NDSU side. Yes probably more interest on the UND side, I would agree. I'd agree some NDSU students may not care about playing UND, but once the game comes around....that whole week people will be jacked up for the game. It will be WAY different than the week before the UNI or SDSU game. Nosidel will still never admit it even when it happens, it is a complete lost cause trying to talk rationally with him.

If we end up getting a new nickname, then what? I suppose they can still just have North Dakota on them and the interlocking ND on the helmet if we have a new nickname.
-
In looking at the RB stats yesterday.....looks like in total they averaged about 1 yard/rush. We still have lots of improvement needed there, if that is suppose to be our bread and butter....running the ball, 1 yard per rush won't get it done. At least they are going up against one of the best rush defenses so they probably won't face one tougher on the rush. I realize some guys were out etc., and I think we will be better than last year but it still concerns me about not being able to get the push needed up front if we are going to primarily be a rushing team.
-
Isn't the LB position already our strength right now? Seems like it might make sense to keep a scholarship open for a position that we are in more need of help? I realize you need depth, but if he isn't going to start maybe another transfer player at another position could have pushed to start. I'm sure they know what they are doing though and felt he would be a good fit for what the team needs.

I use to live about 5 minutes from that one, I moved but am still not too far. I'm guessing I will probably go there for the game Saturday night!
-
We will have a tough time scoring, unless our offense is vastly improved. I think our offense will be improved (wouldn't be too hard) but I'm just not sure how much. Since we have so many unknowns and don't even know who will be our starting QB in that game as of now, my early thought is 30-10 NDSU. Hoping by game day I'll have reason to think it will be closer than that.
-
We better find some offense if we want a chance of winning that one. My gut tells me our offense will only be average at best at the beginning of the season. Heck we don't even know who our QB is going to be to start that game, could be one of 3 guys. As the old saying goes.....if you have two QB's......well that means you really don't have 'a' QB. Well we have three, I hope that position gets figured out this spring and fall as we need strong QB play to beat good teams.

I do know how I feel about green pants......honestly I don't like the thought of them and can't see myself liking them at all. I could be proven wrong and may like them and/or get use to them....but that is the last thing I wanted. Other than that....looks like a great day for Sioux Football so far today!
-
I don't think I'm going to like Kelly green pants at all.....with Kelly green tops, hope they keep with the white pants!

Did you seriously just say that? Pretty sure you are considered the biggest idiot that comes to this site......even amongst Bison people that come here. And I like how you say you are not going to argue.....after you just made about 7 posts in a row on a site that is not even your teams site. Do you not recall your 12 page rant on our site a couple months ago? Can you please do us a favor and leave this site forever, we get it....you have the smallest package in the world and have to keep coming here to brag about NDSU to compensate. You no longer have to prove it. And by the way......it's people like you that make us despise NDSU. If schmucks like you would stay off this site we'd probably give you guys your congrats and move on. It's so funny.....I was wondering how long it would take NDSU people to come here after the game...win or lose and spout off. Go hope on the SDSU site since you and your SDSU buddies like to hold hands during the game.
-
Wow you have a 20% completion percentage in the first half and then your first play in the second half is throw the ball up and hope you receiver makes a play.
-
ISU lucked out there......either way a free 3 points for NDSU
-
Wow that is huge......this is going to be another Bison win.
-
If ISU would quit trying to pass every play for incompletions they might have a chance. Not impressed with their play calling on offense.
-
I agree, I was excited when I came on tonight to see two new pages of activity to read up on, but then realized it was mostly kingranch bragging about NDSU's perfection.
-
Ahhh so your the one who hired 2011BisonAlumni. So do either of you actually post on BV.......or do you just come on here instead because things are more interesting or something.

Wentz is a big kid and has the tools, but having the tools....and using the tools are two different things. He is in a run first offense, which should really boost his completion percentage because teams are expecting the run so when he does throw he should be able to pick them apart. He could put it all together and have a great year next year, but he definitely needs to improve a lot before sitting on the bench on the NFL. I've only watched a little of him, some say he's not that accurate at times? I don't think you can really teach accuracy can you? I'm not a football coach or QB expert or anything, I'm sure mechanics can be improved...but it kind of seems like you either have accuracy or you don't? I'll let one of the football guru's here elaborate on that, however we could probably ask Tim Tebow. He does apparently have the tools though, so we will see if he puts it all together. If he improves even more next year I'm sure he'll get a shot at some training camps because of his size etc., I'll wish him luck.

Apparently your employer was looking for a certain 'dick' quality in his employees, so you stood out head and shoulders above the rest.
