That series made no sense to me.

There was plenty of time....why did we come out in passing sets?

Why do we have no RB in the backfield to at least run play action, or run the ball!

Alright....let's have the freshman drive us down the field......and the freshman kicker nail the game winning field goal!

I wonder if those who scream for a pass on first down enjoyed that 7 yard loss on first down.

Boom....great play call by NAU. Being super conservative is great when it works....but not so much when it doesn't.

That penalty may very well cost us the game, pretty sure we would have scored a TD there. Hopefully it doesn't...we'll see. I certainly don't feel comfortable with only a 6 point lead.

Ugh.....I guess we were just getting teased today, thinking we might pull out a real nice win. Not looking good here right now, we need to start making some plays!

He has definitely pulled out the Stoney Brook offensive game plan since the first quarter, hopefully it will hold out.

Yeah 31 straight runs, should definitely be able to surprise them with a pass sometime here and get a completion. I can't complain too much about all of the running though as hey it's working. Although now they just scored.....we can't sit on the lead the whole game. Just gotta find that perfect time to dial up a nice pass play.

When you can run for 4 yards on first down....the offensive coordinator looks brilliant! Wow another sack for the defense!

That was a pretty nice push by the line to get the TD....when everybody knew a run was coming.

I think there are few games where the playing calling was pretty decent, and I agree there have been some others that have been questionable at times. Play calling has to be tough with this offense, especially now when you don't really trust much of anything. The first play with Studsrud.......guess what he did...he threw a pass (I bet you didn't see that one coming). But when you start throwing picks you have to dial it back. I know what your saying though, find some plays that fit him and find some things to keep the defense off balance, short passes.....whatever. I think he did start doing that in a few games in the middle of the season, and we were just starting to make some progress. It's almost like the chicken and the egg.....which one has to be good first? Do they actually have to execute and catch the ball and get a first down to improve the play calling, or does the play calling have to improve to get us a first down. I blame a majority of it on execution. If you start running the ball at 3-4 yards a crack, catch the ball when you are wide open and get a first down......that sure makes things a lot easier. Calling plays for the train wreck of an offense at this point can't be easy, I have no ties to Rudolph at all......but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.......for now.

We won't be nearly as bad in week 3 next year as we are right now (due to all of the injuries etc.). What I'm hoping for is that by week 3 next year that we are a little better than we were mid seasonish when we played Montana and Portland State. With a healthy team and hopefully some improvement on offense I think we can be, and if we are we'll have a chance to make it a fairly competitive game. It really stinks though having zero momentum going into next season......we had some going for a little while but with injuries and everything else we have taken a big step back. Once we are healthy again I don't think it will take long for us to take another step forward.

I'm off to try and pick up some tickets to the ASU - Notre Dame game and try and make it to that ......I'll try and keep an eye on this thread to get score updates.

With this offense it may take a minor miracle to win today, hopefully the defense of special teams can make some big plays

Well hopefully they are the ones who are dropping all of the balls, if so maybe it won't be that bad of a thing. But yeah either way, dropping out 2/3 through the season is pretty lame unless there are some special circumstances. Kinda kidding about it not being a bad thing, we are kind of thin all the way around and any departures at this point is not good. Although I guess if they are going to quit at the end of the season anyway, and they were getting some playing time.....actually better off without them and getting somebody younger in to get some game experience.....it's not like we are playoff bound or anything this year. Think I contradicted myself twice..... I should re-write all of that but oh well....I was just typing out loud.

I agree.... and it sucks to have no expectations of anything from our offense this late in the year. I feel like now we have jumped back to where we were in week three or so. Things were starting to come around just a bit, but now we've taken what seems like a huge step backwards. I hope we can take a step forward this coming weekend.
