looking at all conferences there's about 19 teams with 7 or more wins right now. and about 12 teams with 6 wins going into the last weekend. so......whatever that means....probably nothing as I have no idea if there's any D2 wins for those teams. as someone mentioned earlier our ranking stinks so I think we need a lot of help.

I'm getting a headache just thinking about the possibilities. And I haven't even started thinking about how many 6 d1 win teams are out there from all the other conferences at the moment...and how their win/lose scenarios could affect how many teams the big sky gets in..... at least we saw a great game today, and a dominating win....that may help, if we follow up and do the same next weekend.

does it look like a man, now that you've seen it for the first time? you've apparently forgotten the changes I suggested just a few minutes ago to make it more hawk-like while staying similar in design. i don't know what else to tell you.

totally agree. we could incorporate school colors. that's why I made those suggestions for changes, to have natural-looking bird feathers.

well then you're looking at the wrong one.

when I look at the Blackhawk hawk logo, it doesn't look like a man at all. not sure which one you're looking at. the main thing that would need to be changed is the little button that is holding the colored feathers. get rid of the button, and tame those wild, large feathers as desired, change the colors, and it will look more hawkish and still resemble the Blackhawk logo.

I feel the need to point out you are comparing apples and oranges here. Or more like apples and lasagna. William and Mary was told they could keep their name as the Tribe if they got rid of any Native American imagery. They could still be a tribe, just not a Native American tribe. If Fighting Hawks is chosen, UND will have complied by changing their name. And, a fun fact for the kids listening at home, hawks are birds with feathers. The NCAA would not prohibit UND from putting feathers on a bird. No other school that has complied by changing their name to a bird has been prohibited from having birds donning feathers as part of their logos or mascots.

your assertion is its a big deal because if that "exact" logo is not usable, people would change their minds and vote Roughriders. Otherwise you wouldn't complain about it. Nobody knows for sure what a Roughriders logo would look like, but I bet Roughriders voters have an idea of what they would like it to be. If they found out the new logo was not going to be exactly what they had pictured, would they change their vote? Of course not.

exactly. The pressure will be there from the students to design a logo that is similar.

I haven't seen any of what you claim, either. I just find it funny that Roughriders supporters are the only group of voters going back to the 5 finalists that feel the need to justify and explain away using their own personal opinions, why other people voted the way they did, and why they are wrong.

I had 5,000 people tell me they're voting for roughriders based on the unusable logo siouxfan97 has displayed. Otherwise, they think the name roughriders totally sucks ass and would change their minds in a heartbeat and vote fighting hawks if they only knew. if you think this sounds ridiculous, look in the mirror, conspiracy theorists.

exactly. It's been quite entertaining to observe the ever changing thoughts and ideas of some in the roughrider crowd.

Roughriders? It Doesn't Even Really make Sense

I'm glad they put this in the paper. I predict this will change somewhere between 1 and 3 people's minds. I also predict people will still whine about students being uninformed, somehow convincing themselves the students would've completely changed their minds and voted for Roughriders if they had only known an exact copy of a certain logo of a hawk could not be used.

Please, not another runoff...
