  1. Yep, that's what I do, too. And locally here in the hinterlands, i'll use my local charge card and pay the bill once a month. They offer 5 to 10 cents off per gallon for using the local card vs. using a regular credit card.
  2. Great post. You are exactly correct on the terminals being a big factor. Even in Fargo, I know of trucks standing in long lines for a retailer, thinking they were going to get filled at price X. And by the time they got to the front of the line and filled, wholesale gas price had risen 20 cents. But heck, since we don't know anything for sure, let's just blame the retailer, who gross margins 25-30 cents at the most per gallon..... And 1/3 of that margin gets sent to Visa the instant you swipe your credit card.
  3. LOL awesome Beaks up!!!!
  4. I guess I don't quite follow what you're saying. On the one hand we should get away from the North Dakota mindset, but on the other hand ND and UND produce talented, creative people. ? So should we or shouldn't we employ someone from the area with ties to UND to design it? I think we should. Sort of like looking for a new president....there are people with UND ties that would do an outstanding job, but i'm guessing we'll end up with a lunatic liberal as per usual in academia. I've seen some creative ideas here on this site that include a detail here or there that remind of the previous logo, which looked really nice, but if we end up with something completely different, that's ok, too, One thing I do know is I will be one of the last people to piss and moan about whatever the logo is.
  5. Unless there's UND grads working at any of those firms, I can't see how there will be any effort made to retain some details from the old logo. Which is unfortunate.
  6. He puts the ass in passionate.
  7. which folks think that? I believe most folks feel he should be able to compose himself and be respectful for 10, 15 seconds in the handshake line.
  8. isn't that just his normal end-of-game-we-lost procedure for the handshake line?
  9. well that sucked. I can't complain about the non call on Hooker though. He initiated the contact and the other guy was flat footed. not going to get that call ever at the end of a game. The less Shanks plays, the better. my patience has grown thin on that experiment.
  10. no kidding. what is going on here
  11. wow we got jobbed on the basket interference!!!
  12. nice to see the effort these guys are playing with. Avants playing great!
  13. sorry I wasn't clear. I meant still going with green and white, with hardly a mention of fighting hawks at some events.
  14. So, we're going with the Green and White......interesting....
  15. No, but there's sprinkles on top, if that sways your opinion.
  16. I knew the Chinese would eventually be taking over the world, but I didn't think I would sleep through it! Sum Ting Wong?!
  17. I completely agree.
  18. I thought besides basketball, their main winter sport was Barnyard Gymnastics.
  19. becoming successful in FCS, and living in reality being able to acknowledge FCS football is insignificant in the grand scheme, are not mutually exclusive things.
  20. I had no idea they kept attendance numbers 1,815 years ago. Thanks for that. But the question remains, was it "good for all of North Dakota" back then, as you claim winning FCS titles is now?
  21. Jesus H. I wonder how soon until they quit keeping score?
  22. I wonder if they have some sort of flow chart at ndsu that explains how punishment for each type of crime is determined based on a player's value to the team...
  23. I don't think there's a football fan anywhere that didn't think differently about the first round playoff situation. But, that said, if it's the last week of the regular season and you're playing for the division title, yet you are afraid of who your first round opponent may be, at HOME, you're probably not superbowl worthy anyway. A lot of what ifs, but suppose the Vikings won yesterday. Then they go into Arizona and avenge that close loss earlier this season. And Rodgers pulls of a miracle in Carolina. Suddenly the Vikings are hosting the NFC Championship game in two weeks. I'll put down the crack pipe now. But as Herm Edwards would say, there's reasons "you play to win the game". Skol Vikings! Next Year's Team Since 1961.
  24. 84-76 UND with the win. Idaho state doesn't look too good. but a win is a win, especially on the road.
  25. the Campbell's chunky soup danceline is also almost unwatchable.
