  1. This is another thing that defies logic. Wouldn't travel expenses be cut at least a little if the men's and women's teams traveled together? That's never made much sense to me. Why exactly does the BSC do this??
  2. You realize a new stadium would still need to actually be full in order to be a positive in the fund category correct? I know it's easy to spend other peoples money but you have to look at all of this a bit more realistically.
  3. I think Chad Walthall would be an excellent candidate.
  4. I don't how athletic scholarships are differentiated by academic scholarships in the legalize sense but IMO the money is still going to fund a students education. After all even athletes are students first and foremost. All of this uproar over $150,000 out of $10M?
  5. My problem with Jones is the team just doesn't seem to be improving. Not from the beginning of the season to the end or from year to year. I'm no BB mind but whatever he seems to be doing it's not relating to the kids. The kids just don't seem to play well as a team. Last year they had arguably some of the most talented guys ever at UND but played like individuals not a team. I think a change is probably overdue at this point.
  6. I agree on McCarthy. A fourth and goal from the one foot line and you kick a FG? WTF your telling your team I don't think we can get a fricking foot! Plus even if you don't get it Seattle would be starting inside their own 3 yard line. And then 3 runs to attempt to run off time in the third when a first down would have pretty much sealed it. Not to mention you have a HOF QB! Come on man!
  7. This happens at every school including UM and UND. If a recruit wants to keep looking the school will do the same. And if another kid accepts that's the risk any recruit takes. Your either committed or your not. Nothing is guaranteed until LOI are signed. A verbal is meaningless really. You can't pull something that hasn't been given or received yet.
  8. I'm hoping UND can keep it close and maybe have a shot at the end. UND - 17 Missouri State - 20
  9. First of all the part about those games suck was tongue in cheek and for me personally. Second of all I do not fly, have never, will never, that's just me. I would love to be able to drive a reasonable distance (400-600 miles) and watch UND take on an FBS opponent. Sorry for expressing my thoughts on the schedule. I'm no Bison fan nor on Bisonville, I live near Fargo, I have friends and neighbors who are Bison fans, we rib each other in good fun. Honestly, the constant bashing of NDSU and Bison fans on here is getting a bit old and I've only really been on the site a short time. I guess this place just isn't for me. Carry on....
  10. IMO these games suck! I'm just mad I won't be able to attend any of them. Sure wish we would schedule some closer teams, like KU, KSU, Iowa State, etc. Something within driving distance anyway.
  11. Hopefully the players won't have to shovel the sidewalks to get to the new facility!
  12. We are just filling our coaching staff now? And with D2 coaches even?? Good grief, Muss better get it together! I like the Cunningham pick but come on man this should have been done months ago.
  13. Wow, USD is gonna get killed!
  14. I agree. Could be easier said then done though with freshmen back there, but you got to live with the rookie mistakes to mold a champ!
  15. We have another season like last year and I'm not sure I would want anyone back.
  16. This Big Ten decision is kind of stupid if you look at it from a strength of schedule side. I mean playing the top teams in FCS would be better then some of the bottom feeders in FBS. It will be interesting how they determine the SOS criteria, if it's simply by the division name it's pretty bogus!
  17. Your right. Those stories seem to get barried on the back page!
  18. Yep, when it's UND vs NDSU I pull for the Sioux every time. When it's a ND team against the nation I pull for the ND team. Like I said sorry if I don't meet your standards!
  19. WTF is your point with all these posts? Are all Sioux fans supposed to degrade and put down NDSU? The petty BS between these two fan bases is pretty stupid in my eyes. I am a North Dakota sports fan, I pull for ND teams on the national stage. Sorry, if I don't meet your standards!
  20. Seriously? Now it's up to NDSU to somehow stop an idiotic fan from posting crap on the internet?? Good grief!
  21. I'm not about to throw comments towards NDSU for the actions of these former players. For one thing there really isn't anything that NDSU can do about it anyway. I'm sure NDSU and their fans are disappointed with these former players actions. The only reason this was front page material is due to NDSU's success on the field. NDSU football is huge in Fargo and the entire region, that helps sell the Forum when you can put those items in headlines. Yes, in my opinion NDSU should have handled the original situation and current players differently. Another reason is UND has had it's share of bad apples over the years and there is no doubt in my mind that we will probably have more in the future. Schools deal with kids who make bad choices every year. You never hear about them unless they are athletes, that's why they are news worthy afterall. It's unfortunate that people make stupid mistakes, worse that they fail to learn from them! It's unfortunate that the press always seems to print the bad stuff that people do and very little of the good things get any press at all. I know many student athletes who donate time to worthy causes that never have front page stories about it. Nature of the media I suppose. Not saying that this story should not have been printed, obviously it is news. It would be nice if they printed some of the good things athletes do off the field once in awhile though.
  22. The fact is that is not going to happen. At least not with the core schools I mentioned. Maybe the IU's, but those have always been looking. Everyone keeps saying the instability of the SL, heck it's been around for 30 years!
  23. OK so hypothetically speaking, if we were offered an MVFC and Summit invite, would we accept or decline? Wouldn't the SL actually give us a better shot at the NCAA tourney? I mean we can beat the best teams in that conference. I just can't see the other schools going to another conference. I mean why and where would they? The SL is actually the best fit for NDSU, SDSU, USD & UNO. With Denver and us it would be a very solid core that may even attract back UMKC and other schools on the fringe. The geographic footprint makes travel a breeze. If I was Faison I would have to seriously consider it. As far as the MVFC goes, if NDSU, SDSU, USD, MSU, WIU & SIU voted for us how could the other schools object? Where would the MVC football schools like UNI, SIU, InSU and IlSU move to? They have no other option then to accept us.
  24. Didn't really answer my question. Which conference would offer them an invite? Why would they choose said conference?
