Plain and simple, it sux.

That's good stuff, great point. Yah, no doubt Jost would have made difference in gaining one more win (minimum) last season.
-
While I hear what you're saying in ref to "afternoon paper" as the news is late, they would actually be better if they did go back to being an afternoon paper again (or even just mid morning), that way the game stories from the previous night would at least make it in the next day's paper instead of 2 -3 days later. But yup, WDAZ is slowly fading away...
-
You make a great point. Heck, not even thinking about what happens next week if we somehow win tomorrow night then a split is certainly a success series-wise as that's all I was hoping for. We lay another egg tomorrow night though and yoy…..

I take it he didn't? I would agree with you, heck I would of spouted piss and vinegar and I'm not the coach, just a fan.
-
Spot on! I believe his first goal after that was his in his first game back following that in the Final 5 in St Paul and didn't he score a goal like on his first shift if I recall correctly?!
-
I expected nothing less but he is in reality a UND employee, correct (like the men's hoops play by play guy who a few years ago was suspended for describing UND's game ending play in a late close loss as "choke job")? Isn't Hennessy under the same employment scenario?

Early 70s to mid 70s and early 90s to mid 90s, likely coming real soon to a location near you! Hopefully just a 3 - 4 year swoon but TBD...
-
While Berry's time may be limited here, remains to be seen though, Haks ain't coming back no matter what happens in Philly.
-
Oh, yeah, they will. We'll explode for 2 goals and only give up 3 goals to Duluth and we'll also edge them in SOG 27 - 24.
-
Yup, I thought I heard/read that too recently.
-
And to keep running with that theme I believe even CC put 10 goals earlier this season on Alaska-Anch, believe most we got on them was 5 last Fri night.
-
Yup he won it with Hak's players and finally UND had a little puck luck, etc., which is so prevalent in one and done games.
-
Excellent question. Don't we still have a fairly high number of NHL draft picks? Either the scouts are wrong or when those guys get to UND they aren't progressing like they should as the season goes along (as our teams used to always do, oh, like 2 or 3 season ago).
-
Why do we keep shooting at middle goal at the Duluth goalie's chest?
-
How did this team get here (crap) so fast? Unwatchable at times.
-
Usually, if anything, the refs seem to blow the whistle too fast or blow it cus they lose sight of the puck even though one sometimes can see it even from the stands.
-
They probably "are who they are" by now but it would be nice if some of our upperclassmen forwards who hardly ever score could pick up some of the slack in Jones' absence. It would sure help out.
-
And to think one writer/media member in SD did not even vote for her to the pre-season all-conf Summit League team. Stupid or petulant...
-
We play non-scholarship Drake at home again? Yoy.
-
Great point about casual fans not being impacted by a change in the OC regarding their ticket purchase decision. I suppose though a casual fan, by definition, might not even be bothered to purchase a season ticket anyhow though (?). Agree, it will probably take a year to get the excitement back (assuming they do well next season, that's not a given) following this season's 1-3 meltdown following a decent 5-2 start.
-
Strand, a senior, amazes me she still plays/keeps a scholarship. May as well play some young blood for the experience cus we ain't going anywhere this season and sad to say it will likely be worse next season after stud Klabo graduates.
-
Hey, I hear ya! Today's Herald had headline on sports page 3 I believe regarding UND coming back with 3 goals to beat UAA 4-3 on Sat night in 3rd period. Three days following the game! May as well not even print that story it's so late. What a joke. I'm an old guy newspaper junkie since I was a kid but I'm now this close to canx my Herald subscription after many years, simply not worth it when stories are so late and new/scores are free on-line the same/very next day.
-
Cmon, we're not necessarily talking just missing "open nets". We're also talking creativity to create chances, make space, etc. necessary in order to score. To some degree over time/down the line it ultimately will fall on the coach, fair or not, as the result over time is what it is--the W-L record. Your team consistently wins their games more often than not (which means players are finishing and getting goals necessary to outscore the other team), vs the opposite, then you have a job still (or you move up).
-
Well, yah, the media...but 3 days late. Today's Herald pg 3 sports headline was UND rallies in 3rd period to beat UAA. Laughed when I saw that, why even bother printing it, let alone headline it.
