  1. Damn, wish I had seen this at 7:00.
  2. You put it well, AJS. After we got to OT I was just hoping for the tie so could claim a good weekend at home but the way we were buzzing their net halfway thru the OT I thought WTH, get the win baby! Not to be though, we settle for a split at home. And it will be damn tough to get a sweep in Den, that just about never happens. Will just be hoping to salvage a split out there.
  3. You nailed it on the head, injuries to forwards be damned. There's no way we should have been held scoreless until the 57th minute mark or lost that game had we had a few forwards who could finish/had more offensive creativity-skill.
  4. I saw that too and thought WTF?! You can get away with that, a crosscheck to the side of the guys head. Man.
  5. I'm a big football and hockey fan both and the NFL outdraws/generates revenue way more than NHL buy a huge margin so I'm not sure anybody should really be surprised by this. Let's face it, while hockey may be bigger around the world than American football, that sure as hell ain't the case here in the states.
  6. I didn't see you as trolling, thought you came off as fair game/good questions. Yup, NDSU and UND very proud and strong D-2 pgms prior to going D-1. During the D-2 era they fared much better than the two SD schools but that has certainly changed now in the D-1 era (especially for NDSU the last several years and now for UND the last few years). As you maybe know, UND went to the Big Dance perhaps 3-4 years ago (?) but now that seems long ago based on the last few years.
  7. I think though if this atrocious shooting continues this season that Brewster might me just a bit on the hot seat this season but, if not, then surely next season when Klabo and Morton (decent player, high energy, but not a consistent scorer) are both gone it could well be a very, very lean year for UND lady hoops. Then for sure Brewster would and should be on the HOT seat.
  8. The Goofer faithful were really coming down on Lucia the last few years but, in retrospect, the guy may have been doing a miracle job based on their performance this season. Who would of thunk?
  9. Hmm, 2 straight losses for UMD but WMU is a very worthy opponent as we well know.
  10. Nice, nice win tonight (didn't get to see it though, office Christmas party) but looking at the stats if we don't get more than 16 - 18 SOG tomorrow I think our chance of winning is at best 20%. I realize we were up 3-0 an obviously in defensive mode but that's gotta improve tomorrow night if we're to have a chance.
  11. Fire Haks!
  12. Just curious, did we even recruit either of them?
  13. Exactly. They're usually the king, uh queen, of turnovers.
  14. Ahh, that's right. Forgot about that. Yah, pretty good win although it could be closer if they're scheduled to meet up later again in the season. Man, GFC putting up some big numbers.
  15. Still for sale? Is it 4 tickets each night vs Den? I'm only looking for 2 tickets for Sat night only (pending permission from my "boss").
  16. Just think; if that presidential vote/count had happened on a Sat night that infamous headline would of been in the Tue print edition of the GF Herald. And that's called "progress" folks, don't ya love it!
  17. Somewhat in line with what you say, my mother lived in GF early 80s to 99 then moved to Rochester (MN), where' she's lived ever since. She gets up here once a year to visit and 3 things (economically, with #3 being no surprise) always stick out to her. One; it always surprises how high priced housing is in GF in comparison to her expectation (keep in mind/comparing to Rochester, which is a Midwest "boom-town" akin to Fargo and Sioux Falls). Two; Hugos is high priced. Three; how high priced gas is (Linbergh baby!).
  18. And halfway (or a third?) lost the GF Herald recently.
  19. I realize this is about ND HS hockey but just for fun, where would EGF fit in there? I'm no great HS hockey mind by any means but my guess is 2, 3 or 4? Are they about on par with Davies and RR this season but well behind GFC?
  20. No doubt, preference would be somewhere in the middle. Anyway, I would still take Bud. This ain't a football blog/site but to be fair to Bud Grant, they were pretty much the best team NFC team for much of the 70s but lost 3 SBs to pretty damn good all-time teams in Miami, Pittsburgh, and Oakland so it was really no tragedy losing to them. The KC loss though, ugh.
  21. Hmm..., Mount Rushmore (and I'm not a Pats fan).
  22. That stat, while nice, tells me then that overall (season as a whole) they're probably an average or slightly above average team. Maddingly they sometimes look like world beaters and sometimes they've looked like they can't beat anybody (just 1 win in 6 games vs Bem St, Miami-OH, and W. Mich).
  23. I think his point though is a little more meaningful in that the 2016 team was really Hak's team while last season was obviously more so Berry's team.
  24. Amen. Marv Levy and Bud Grant, who we all know lost multiple SBs, were arguably better coaches than T. Dungy and J. Gruden, regardless whether the latter two won SB titles.
  25. That's my #1 pet peeve with basketball (besides the last 3 min taking 20 min in a close game) unless you're head and shoulders above another team good luck trying to win a non-conf game on the road. I say that as at least in a conf game on the road the refs are from the conf of both schools but I believe when they're non-conf games normally the refs are from the conf of the home team. If that's not right (after all, UND men did win at Milwaukee earlier this season) then I stand corrected.
