Berry would be friendly and say they have culture and work hard though.

Our finishing/play making skills are just so mediocre. And we skate like the ice is slippery.

SOGs and time of possession don't mean poop if you get out-skilled offensively (i.e. other team scores more goals) and that's what's been happening way too often.

Why can't we get those goalies? My biggest pet peeve/gripe is the "we'll learn from this" (I believe Rhett Gardner was quoted saying that this wknd) but I've heard that exact same line now like 11 times in the past two seasons following bad losses/series'. Learn from it after the first time, whether it happens at UND, in the minors/juniors, or even in high school. God, that quote gets old.

I really do like your optimism but to say "the team will be fine" and "although a frustrating weekend" makes it sound like this past wknd was just a just a "bump in the road" (there's been way too many bumps in the last 50 - 60 games) but the downward trend now has been going on for a good season and a half and it still seems to be down-trending, not up-trending.

I don't think UND would have a place/need for him.

I may be wrong but I believe that's the closest anyone has come to "beating" GFC this season. Interesting EGF outshot them 33-24 but at same time you can't give up 5 goals on just 24 shots.

I just don't see them firing Berry mid-season, as most top college sports programs don't, but gotta think it will happen at season's end unless this debacle gets turned around right quick now.

Remember, in Hennessey's defense he is or is essentially a UND paid employee, Remember men's hoop's play by play radio guy Paul Rolston getting suspended by UND back a few years ago when he referred to a late men's hoops collapse as a "choke job". Yah, no doubt a conflict of interest when it comes to getting honest/opinionated reporting, but Tim surely knows where his next paycheck is coming from.

Just avg/mediocre talent, similar to what we see now. It takes awhile to set in or grasp as you have players that are "names" (e.g. draft picks, etc) but once the "bad luck", "hot goalies", "no puck luck" stretches for 2 - 3 seasons (as it is nearing now) then it hits you on the head that your team simply ain't nothing but average or mediocre.

I think you just nailed it and it puts the Haks/Berry back and forth barbs to rest. He should of been spewing piss and vinegar tonight in post-game interview with Tim on radio but he really wasn't for most part. He actually kind of praised/complimented the team he left behind in the locker room (that they "believe", blah, blah, blah).

I'm out too. Unless I get a free ticket I ain't going to CC series next wknd. My guess is they split but CC now looks like UND of 2015-16 or 2010/011 compared to this effin team.

This is just terrible to watch. It must be so easy/un-stressful for opposing teams anymore to game plan for us anymore. How many effin times have I heard a rise/excitement in Tim's voice on an offensive chance and then it's "oh, the shot is wide", "oh, the puck goes over the net", "oh, he fans on it, "oh, the puck bounces over his stick, "oh, the goalie makes the save", blah blah blah. Cripes.

Yup, no matter how this game ends (e.g. we win 4-2) it still will suck. Seriously.

So our goalie save % on the wknd then is like .800 (real rough math in my head?) while their goalie's save % is like .975 maybe?

Exactly. As I the power play late in 2nd period almost all the shots are from a stationary position thus allowing the goalie to square up and read the angle perfectly vice players shooting off passes while they're actually skating/moving. It has to make it so much easier for a goalie and defensemen.

Yah, Tim on radio initially said how unlucky we were as was off a skate again but watching the play it was piss-poor defense.

Especially when you get home field in the playoffs all the way to the final, which is a "neutral" field (like Vegas was "neutral" for UND hockey this season). Kudos to Moo U, they're brilliant, but it sure makes it an easier path to a title.

Exactly, I texted that several times to some of my buds. NDSU no doubt the best team but EWU had to beat two opponents today and couldn't. Some of the calls and non-calls in 1st qtr and thru early/mid 2nd qtr all went against EWU.
