  1. And we have a few forwards who, and I'm barely exaggerating, have each have about as many points on the season as goalie Ed Belfour did back in '87. Yoy.
  2. Following this past wknd's UND sports debacle and the football season and hockey season (to date) I was thinking the same thing regarding Chaves and his decision to come here. Another tough football season next year and he's really going to be earning his money.
  3. brianvf--Agree, liked the play of Keane and Adams. Yup, Jones has been a nice player and likely will be the "biggest loss" but that probably to some degree negatively reflects on the level of this team (no offense to Jones) these past few seasons. Gardner, another nice player but that's more likely in reference to the level of play by this team the last few seasons, will be a hit in terms of faceoff percentage but if that's all I'm addressing then I'm stretching a bit. My only beef is the reference to next year's "stellar recruiting class", which it well may be, but it seems we have such at UND almost every season but lately it hasn't come to fruition (especially offensively). Nope, not too early to talk 2019/20 after tonight's loss.
  4. Yikes, that's like 23.5% or so. Not sure what his stat was vs NDSU.
  5. I hate to pick on Avants but that looked like an easy/sure put back but looked like he missed the shot way left (assuming he did not get hacked going up otherwise it would have been called I assume?).
  6. Ditto, me either. If so, yes, is a traitor or a faker. As a UND grad/supporter/loyalist there's no way I could switch over to the bad side, seriously.
  7. He by no means is. That's why he gets point 3 point looks late in the game when UND is trying to come back. Trouble is, he takes them. Plays right into their hands. I have to guess that's the scenario late in games. Otherwise, if Jones is trying to set him up for the trey late in close games then I question his wisdom.
  8. We have to go 9-3 which includes 8 of 12 vs St Clown/Dul/WMU/Den? And as Mafia Man just posted, we just went "PW powers" (my words, not MM's) 3-3 vs Canisius/CC/UNO with 2 of those wins coming in overtime? I'll take another drink, please. Playoffs, playoffs,.... Yoy.
  9. That, my man, puts it all in perspective. Cripes...Is there a college hockey NIT out there? We'd be the perfect team to win it this season, seriously. Also, it would be another "natty" for Berry to add to his resume (hey, it beats making the NCAA and losing in the FF ).
  10. Oh, I agree with you but we always have to remember he is essentially a UND (paid) employee so no doubt he's gotta toe the company line (which gets old sometimes).
  11. Don't disagree but to his credit, Olie did say post-game that the lower line forwards were more successful than the upper line forwards and implied more or less something should be done (changes I assume?) about that.
  12. Agree, sooner or later you lose credibility. These not so good results It can't be attributed to "puck luck" for a good 1-1/2 seasons, can it? If so, then it has to be puck luck that got Berry his natty in 2016 (can't have it both ways...).
  13. You said exactly my thoughts. Many folks were happy coming in with 3 game win streak but last wknd was at home vs a lowly CC team and we blew 2 goals lead and it took ot twice just to beat them. We then had to overcome a blown 2 goal lead yet again last night to beat a lowly Neb-O team and then tonight we blow yet again a 2 goal lead and as predictable can't overcome it a 4th straight time (go to the well too often and...). On the wknd, vs Neb-O total goals tied at 7 each. We are what we are, an average team at best who can sometimes play well enough to beat a top team (as we've done a few times ) and also lose to not so good teams (as we've also done more that a few times). That equates to average at best.
  14. HTF does Shaw keep his job as PP coach? Oh, that's right, his son is on the team. Send him packing. I'm pretty sure Hak is never coming back but Berry has to go, he got us that natty (thx) but he's now these past few years this program is heading...yoy.
  15. Exactly. And in our situation (all tied to the putrid sweep by Canisius at their place), I prefer our odds to sweep at #40 PW ranked UNO vice us sweeping St. Clown or Duluth at home.
  16. Normally agree but losing at twice at Canisius means you gotta sweep on the road at UNO, doesn't it?
  17. Well, maybe a page out of the Haks playbook but at least his teams finished top 4 in conf play and made the NCAA tourney pretty much every season, often advancing to the FF an final (okay, no natty, I hear you).
  18. He's an idiot, to put it bluntly, at times. I believe after having a breakaway (unsuccessful) he slashed the goalie at the end of the play.
  19. Well, agree, the team plays hard but it can still be stupid or have mental lapses. Like last night protecting a lead late in 3rd period and they turn it over for a UNO breakaway but Scheel bailed them out. I think "complete 60" means playing smart too and not just trying hard.
  20. I would agree for most part. I think St Clown and Duluth are at the top followed at next lower level by Den and WMU, with UND just a notch below them. But I agree, I thought at home we could of/should of swept. Always tough at Den though.
  21. Just a beast. A man among boys. Look at his arms, for a hockey player back in the day he's solid linebacker size.....but on skates no less.
