  1. Just put the game on, see SOG are UND 15 DU 6 but we're down 1-0. Sigh, same old, same old again?
  2. Sioux fan but gotta agree, no way in hell Jones is taking UND to the Big Dance this season or next season.
  3. Not to be Nancy Negative (or Danny Downer) but I tend to agree, MM. DU comes in ticked/hungry/fired up to go against rival UND, they're at home where they play well at mile-high altitude/other teams less-so, and UND is probably going to be feeling "sweet" (relaxed, confident,...you name it) after their slaughter of #1 St Cloud previous week. Don't like the ingredients but please prove me wrong cus, as Mr. Berry said, every game now is essentially a play-off game. Go get 'em boys, beat the Pio's!
  4. Yah, school closed for several/many days I believe the GF Herald said so the "wussification" of America as one person posted started well before this week.
  5. Just a hunch after watching him play at UND for these last 3 or 4 season but I'm guessing he didn't score/not good finishing skills, seems challenged in that regard.
  6. Windchill is real, my man.
  7. You nailed that on the head. Most hoops games have very few students, sometimes maybe a dozen or two at best. Don't students go to hoops anymore? I know GF and UND are hockey first but I gotta think a good portion of students are from ND areas (e..g small towns/rural) where hockey is back seat (or even non-existent) to hoops. The sign that says "Student Section" at the Betty is actually pretty comical when you see very few there.
  8. Either way, unlike high school, due to recruiting/scholarships/budget, size (enrollment) doesn't mean nearly as much for college when it comes athletics success/performance. An example; Duke basketball. Yah, a relatively small/med sized school enrollment-wise but certainly not so in terms of their hoops program stature, budget, support, etc.
  9. I said it earlier, refs/NCHC brass created most of the last few minutes antics by UND (hey, nursing a 5-1 lead, WTH) with their non-call of last night's knee on knee hit by #22 for St Clown in order to better protect/present a cleaner Hobey Baker winner to represent the league. Had the refs made the call or NCHC brass handled it right (1 game suspension) most (maybe a little ) of the late game crap doesn't happen. As on poster mentioned earlier, ironic #22 gets the only St Clown goal tonight when he shouldn't of even been out there!
  10. "Thigh"? You nailed it. They're talking "thigh on thigh""? Huh? So that's why he got a bruised "thigh"? WTF. My God NCHC brass, let's just save/bolster the Hober Baker candidate.
  11. I hear you man, and not to make excuses, but DU has such a home ice advantage (not cus of fan support by any means) but cus they sit a mile high. Tough place to ever get a sweep but gotta get the split. DU, believe me, is still a decent team and at home a darn good team (for reason stated), but not quite what they've been the last several years. Get the sweep (don't get swept) and hope like hell for the sweep but I ain't optimistic for that.
  12. Most of it goes back to the non-5 minute major call last night for the knee on knee hit. They invited that from UND in the last minute or two with the big lead. They handle it appropriately/correctly, pretty somber finish at game's end.
  13. He'd make a great soccer player, quite the actor.
  14. Had the refs/NCHC gotten the knee on knee hit corrected/handled accordingly (irnonically the Clowns only goal tonight was by #22!), the crap at the end oof this game would have been a lot less. Blame them for it.
  15. Wong MM, beating a #1 ranked team in a regular season conf game and splitting the series with them should well should earn a ticker-tape parade the way things have gone these last few seasons. Been pretty tuff times around here lately but it's been worth it!
  16. Great effin point. That aside, how's he still in there, I thought he would of had to leave the game by now...
  17. St Paul would half he fans w/o the Sioux fans thee. This game ain't over yet though, by far, plus we still got an uphill battle to make it to St Paul win or lose tonight.
  18. Really, do we even need the score? What about just providing SOG and face-offs won stats (all that matters it seems anymore).
  19. What? Knee on knee, no doubt, and no suspension? such a fine message that sends.
  20. I agree with you. We were beaten like a dead horse in the 2nd and 3rd periods and quite fortunate it wasn't more than 1 all going in to the 3rd period thanks to some very good goal tending by Scheel and poor "puck luck" by St. Clown. Funny, but you never hear our folks talking about the other team's poor "puck luck", guess it only happens to our team.
  21. MM, I know what you're implying but you're wrong my man. "Puck luck" will finally even out and we'll win 4-2 both nights vs Duluth. We would of whupped (not just swept!) CC's ass if not for real tough "puck luck"/"hot goalie".
