So trolls know all the ins and outs of being an AD. That's so cute for a troll. ADs tend to make sure that an heir apparent is on the staff, which a coach may not want. ADs have a big impact, but it's hard to trace because they don't leave tracks.

Taylor will probably orchestrate Bohl to K State and Klieman to Wyo. And then he will cancel the K State-UND game. ADs do have final says who goes on a payroll and who he would like, contrary to bizon nonsense.

Snyder of K State is retiring today. http://themercury.com/k_state_sports/source-k-state-s-bill-snyder-to-announce-retirement-sunday/article_8896727c-f65c-11e8-a3e2-0f233fa502e4.html Klieman probably not the HC as too big a jump, but a staff position may be likely if Taylor has his way.

SDSU attracted a monstrous playoff crowd of 3042 against Duquesne. They have to play in suburban Cobb County of Atlanta next week to play Kennesaw St

Interesting that EWU plans for a 16k expanded stadium are finalized by Jan 2019. Their new AD came from UTSA, and she has had experience in taking a school to FBS. https://www.ewu.edu/stadium/

KNOX radio needs to increase its news and sports coverage. KROX in Crookston provides a lot of HS sports coverage and other news, as the TV stations don’t and the local paper is so slow. KNOX has a news/sports site, but doesn’t have that many breaking stories as KROX does.

Aldi’s has opened up in each of the Tri Cities for three years now. Saw a Wall Street Journal article at how that German chain is so efficient. Need a quarter to get a cart, but it’s mechanically refunded once you return the cart to its store spot. Hardly any employees needed to man an Aldi’s as has limited selection but the price advantages are passed on. Have to use store boxes as they don’t give bags for free. Trade Joes has a similar German corporate history but they have since separated.

Kroger rocks! Good prices on “expensive”groceries. Ingles isn’t bad but on the opposite side of town.

Do the cities of Williston and Dickinson still have their own newscasts for their two stations in each? If so, Bismarck doesn’t have the power yet to take over Minot, Williston and Dickinson.

Charlotte has rescinded the offer to Houston, because Houston wants to entertain other FBS offers. App St and ECU may be going through searches later. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/college/article222433275.html

Highway 85 filled with businesses doesn’t seem to far down the pipe. Oil and chemical service businesses need a lot of frontage space. Alexander and Arnegaard are between them and Williston likely wouldn’t annex in McKenzie County. If a downstream chemical industry materializes, high paying jobs will be plentiful. The Gulf Coast roads frontage road even in Alabama are filled for miles. Hardly means it is settled for miles outside the highway.

If some company finally takes the multi billion dollar plunge on an ethane cracker plant near Williston, that area would have double barreled growth again and Williston/Watford City could even grow so much they touch each other. Ethane is plentiful but now it’s more profitable to crack it in Texas, so Houston’s chemical industry doesn’t stop growing because it has the needed feedstocks from all the increased nat gas fields nearby. Ethane and propane cracking happen in the North like Calgary and Edmonton, which have downstream chemical industries, so Williston is not out of the question. Ethane cannot continue to be pushed into the methane stream (nat gas) without causing safety problems at the consumer and it can’t be economically pipeline transported from the Bakken to Texas. Europe is building a new cracker with Ethane from the Marcellus, which is already scheduled to supply a new cracker near Pittsburgh. The Bakken’s problem is that it is landlocked, so the finished products are harder to deliver. http://www.timesonline.com/news/20180507/residents-of-potter-township-reflect-on-living-with-shell-cracker-plant https://www.naturalgasintel.com/articles/114943-ineos-says-new-european-ethane-cracker-to-benefit-from-us-natural-gas

Mayville-Portland and Hazel-Beulah are playing mostly JV teams but will still be in the east and west tournaments.

Here is a positive recent story on Watford from NPR, which normally doesn’t write good things about oil towns. http://www.kunc.org/post/after-struggles-north-dakota-grows-its-ongoing-oil-boom#stream/0

Nat gas has gone up greatly as there isn’t much winter storage. The US has been exporting a lot and that has taken gas from winter storage. Oil will inevitably go up sometime. Paid under $2 a gallon today though.

Houston is from Franklin, NC, at almost the western tip. Charlotte might be the closest FBS city. Houston used to coach at Lenoir-Rhyne, a DII Lutheran school located not far from Charlotte.

Many of Watford City residents have corporate jobs at nat gas plants. Far from transient as in the old oil boom days. Some people are building houses intending to stay. And those jobs will only increase as more are constructed and operated. Watford City HS has the best facilities in the state with the convention center and hockey arena complex right next door. Minot has Nedrose and South Prairie HIgh Schools near its city limits now too, but those are not big enough for Class A but could be in the future. Minot is stubborn about keeping its two HS campuses for two years each.

Looks like Oakland U is taking puck fascination to a whole other level. https://www.insidehighered.com/quicktakes/2018/11/28/hockey-pucks-fight-shooters-campus http://www.fox2detroit.com/news/local-news/oakland-university-arms-faculty-with-hockey-pucks-to-protect-against-active-shooters

Watford City is now Class A and is still growing fast. But with West Fargo getting another HS, you need more western cities to add HS’s or other Class B towns to rise up for Jamestown to get back in the east again. Maybe if Heart River kept their coop and went Class A, instead of dividing back into their constituent schools of Belfield and South Heart, Jamestown could be with Valley City again. More eastern schools like Central Cass are continuing to grow which would force it up to “A”, messing with Jamestown’s dream of being an EDC school again.

Bring more natural light into the Alerus. Replace the roof panels with something transparent.
