You seem incapable of doing simple arithmetic. UT would have to sell out the lower bowl for mbb, wbb, and Vb every season for 10 years with $50 per person in concessions. That wouldn’t even take OVG to break even as they would have an enormous interest to pay.
-
Did not misconstrue anything. But knew it would bother the hell out of you trolls. FBS will not be mentioned when Montana and Idaho join the Summit, but a few years later they will announce.
-
Am talking about UL Monroe and Texas St and Troy but you and Goon, Southpaw and dub just assume Ohio St. Thats some holy cow for you boys. Nothing sinks into you brain. Coastal Carolina had a 9000 average and a 10k stadium before they moved up. You should spend your time on their board telling them how disastrous the decision was. You all can’t even be reasoned with.
-
Be a troll on that board too.
-
So King is an FBS former assistant coach, NOT. That figure should me more applied to you and Southpaw. Kuper has not been at an FBS level for any job.

Arenas do not typically list concert capacity as the main one instead of sporting capacity as there several configurations. So the Alerus lists it’s capacity at 20k for sporting events? It’s common sense to list actual permanent seats first. Hockey’s Future website has a big thread on an Austin NHL team with links. https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/the-nhl-is-eyeing-austin-texas-instead-of-houston-bob-mckenzie.2578775/page-11 Suggest that you go there and tell everybody there that they are dum**sses. Erwin Center has ice because they have previously hosted ice events and presume UT wants the same only more modern. Why have you never answered us how OVG will spend $300 mill on construction, and actually make a profit. Arenas might break even without including initial capital costs, but few actually pass that hurdle ( MSG, Staples Center and maybe a few others in large Metro areas can) and that’s with UT using the arena free for 50 dates. Austin has an intense music and concert scene, but doubt that would make OVG break even with financials if capital costs are included without another major tenant. But Austin makes more sense than Columbus, which has been an NHL team for almost 20 years, but that is completely denied by you. Columbus was hardly a hockey town in 2000. Austin doesn’t have a named potential interested owner yet, so that is a big hurdle, but there are many locals that could swing it like Michael Dell and Bo Brigham who made his fortune in the Bakken.

UND (6-7) vs Fort Wayne (8-7) 12/28 7 PM
SiouxVolley replied to SWSiouxMN's topic in Men's Basketball
Purdue-Fort Wayne beat NDSU in OT 90-87 with Konchar having 38. -
So you actually realize that Austin will have an upper deck that will be “curtained” off the better fill the UT B.B. games. The whole arena will have an upper deck, which greatly increases capacity. A B.B. court doesn’t increase the capacity for concerts much, so your insistence that it will not have an ice surface is so incredibly lame. Like arguing with the child poster you are. So TSN saying Austin would be a good NHL City isn’t good enough for you? Well here’s another recent one that says Austin is a prime candidate and now it might have a viable arena near downtown. http://dailyhive.com/montreal/possible-nhl-expansion-cities Austin would embrace pro sports, just Vegas and Columbus, did when they first got pro franchises. Interesting that UNDfootball360 includes #thinkFBS on its twitter now. Looking forward to your and Goon’s twitter war with them, otherwise both of you are just plain hypocrites.

The total and complete lack of financial sense is really telling with you. UT isn’t paying one dime for a new 17k arena and they will get a home court for mbb, wbb, Vb and other UT events. How does OVG make money unless on this transaction unless many other dates are more or less set in stone? Icemaking is normal for such big arenas, but you claim to know everything, but have absolutely no wisdom. Austin could not be getting an NBA team, as San Antonio is so close, but an NHL one is possible as Austin has many corporate HQ, just like San Jose, Raleigh, Nashville and Columbus and is relatively wealthy and growing fast. Apple is building a billion dollar 2nd HQ campus on the north side. The Columbus Crew MLS owner just agreed to swap that team for an MLS expansion one because Austin has greater potential than Columbus. The NHL knows that.
-
So with the OVG group, the same company remodeling Seattle’s Key Arena, building a new 17 k arena next to UT’s football stadium, all Austin would need is a NHL owner. Perhaps TSN and yours truly are just more informed than you are. http://www.venuesnow.com/news/detail/ovg-to-develop-university-of-texas-arena Could even open up the possibility of Longhorn hockey.

That the definition of a troll: saying another poster with an idea that you can't wrap your head around needs meds. For a conference, you are in full support if Minny schools and Augie joins our baby league, and I desire to go greater. You are on ignore as you value fake news more than discussion.

Understand. You are so non aspirational of any UND sport except hockey. In hockey, you always demand credentials and links before anyone can post an opinion or concern. But here, its like no big deal if PFW, W Illinois, or ORU leave the Summit because that doesn’t concern you. The Summit can always invite Morningside, Augustana, Mankato, Bemidji St, and St Cloud St and you would be fine with that. This talk that many have had that the Summit would go under if those three key members leave is no concern to you. After all, PFW’s reason for being is to see that UND and the Summit succed at the lowest level possible as it doesn’t involve hockey. You, Hayduke, Southpaw and bison trolls are all cut from the same cloth: don’t want UND athletic to succeed much except hockey and that why you all have the majority of posts here. For your link on real news, not opinion, Trump is going to resign soon. Here’s the link: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/chris-matthews-trump-breaking-point_us_5c186079e4b0432554c37eaf

Didn’t realize that NDSU was in that same tournament. NDSU was blown out by San Fran. https://gohatters.com/sports/2018/11/24/31st-annual-hatter-classic.aspx

But no explanation. Chapman wasnt exactly a character that Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm hung around. He got where is he by backstabbing his opponents. At all levels, politics enter into conference politics. They are rarely one happy family, even when Sanford is tossing moneybags around.
-
Have often stated that NDSU demanded two almost “free” games to get their backing for the MVFC. Previously, they had blocked UND’s access to the MVFC under Chapman’s and Taylor’s direction. USD didn’t face that as USD’s leaders were politicians at the time and could smell rats.

Am still claiming Williams will be very beneficial to BSC schools going FBS. That hasn't changed just because she got a new better job. So your prediction is the WAC will go with six FCS schools and start a new fb league? To get a new FBS league, they need to invite FCS teams, currently they have exactly zero, and then transition them. Your prediction is just a watered down FBS prediction but you don't have the brains to see it.

So the Big Sky gets someone with no experience and passes on someone with years of experience. Loghry could have well expressed a desire for the WAC assistant position knowing he would be the top guy there, so the Big Sky passed on him because they knew he wouldn’t accept it. Besides, the current BSC commish needed someone to train him in. What Loghry is saying is not mutually exclusive, which you always seem to state. Williams, the former commissioner, now has a plush job that will likely ensure the WAC and Summit are part of the CFP. One couldn’t possibly ask for more for Big Sky moveup schools.
-
Always have stated the WAC will be FBS, mostly drawing schools from the Big Sky. The Big Sky will be the low level FCS League. Actually read my comments, instead of passing them off with glared eyes. The WAC is the only non-FBS conference that retains the right to offer FBS spots to FCS or non football schools.
-
Hurd is 67, probably near the end as WAC commish. Loghry will step in to that higher position. Here some tweet response where Hurd absolutely denies adding football back to the WAC, but nobody believes him. https://mobile.twitter.com/WAC_Commish/status/1075140390414675968

Tonight is the DXL Frisco Bowl, San Diego St vs Ohio. Frisco is probably the smallest FBS Bowl venue. https://www.dxlfriscobowl.com/
-
Another piece of circumstantial evidence. The WAC hires former Big Sky deputy commissioner Ron Loghry as WAC deputy commissioner. The WAC commissioner Hurd is scheduled to retire shortly. Certainly Loghry was offered the Big Sky job, but turned it down for a more important position in the future. https://bigskyconf.com/staff.aspx?staff=2

TSN reported last week that Austin might be the next site. That enough of a coincidence to me. OVG has an existing relationship with the NHL and that arena will need many more dates.
-
OVG group, the same company remodeling Seattle’s Key Arena for the new NHL owners, has plans to build a new arena at the U of Texas. Could be a spot for an Austin NHL team. UT is walkable from downtown Austin. https://www.hookem.com/story/innovative-deal-texas-will-get-300-million-basketball-arena-no-cost-taxpayers-boosters/ NCSU Basketball shares their arena with the Carolina Hurricanes. Apple is building a billion $ campus in Austin, so it’s growth will continue.

If one takes the Thompson bridge, county roads go to Crookston, which has a bridge, as Crookston is divided by the Red Lake River. But most lake resort areas are even further south, so Highway 2 keeps going further ESE. Duluth is further south than Fargo.
