  1. DU and Seattle were part of the four remaining WAC schools that had an intense negotiations with the Big Sky over three sessions in 2011. UND and SUU were soon to be full members then and Poly and Davis were affiliates. The Big Sky insisted that Denver and Seattle add football, but those two schools refused. The DU blog that that was on became defunct. In order for trading of teams to work, there would have have to been more future FCS teams and more future FBS schools, so they apparently brought in the rest of the Dakota schools. But then it would have to accommodate three conferences. Dixie St will be added today to the WAC so the WAC can trade them to the Big Sky. DU moved to the conference of its choice because it liked the future members and academically it would be strong. Denver was repeatedly rebuffed from the then Big Sky, as that was much more preferable to the Summit of 2012.
  2. Disagree. Denver knew UND would move down the road and DU wants to be in a conference with UND and Omaha because their main sport is hockey. UMKC moved out of the Summit shortly after DU moved in. DU’s excuse for leaving the WAC was because GCU was for profit, which is no longer the case.
  3. If the Summit was going to lose its autobid by the loss of PUFW, GCU would be taken. If some other closer schools with fb are available, GCU would be rejected as it doesn’t have a travel partner. GCU is not a for-profit school any more so ORU is the right kind of school to compare it with. Augie even but not with near the enrollment or media.
  4. According Jeremy Hoak of the Yankton paper, Grand Canyon U had interest in the Summit but the interest was not mutual. The Summit must have other plans if a quality squad like GCU is not of interest. UMKC and the Summit have talked too, but nothing happened. https://mobile.twitter.com/jhoeck/status/1083098311266127872
  5. How is the WAC going FCS with Dixie St, which won’t count towards FCS for six years, and then presumably inviting Metro State of Denver too? https://roadrunnersathletics.com/news/2018/10/25/general-msu-denver-athletics-to-conduct-ncaa-division-i-feasibility-study.aspx It still needs six new FCS schools to have an autobid.
  6. So you are saying NDSU should have had the death penalty years ago like SMU?
  7. Schools that have under $55mill endowment which UND has had trouble with: Southern Utah Idaho St Eastern Washington Utah Valley Haven't checked WIU and PUFW, but suspect they are low too. Dixie St was just a JC a few short years ago like Utah Valley, but Utah seems to provide their JCs and regionals great athletic facilities.
  8. So Dixie St will announce a DI move on Friday. https://www.ksl.com/article/46464699/sources-dixie-state-to-join-the-western-athletic-conference-play-football-as-fcs-independent Their feasibility study said Dixie St needed a football conference right away, but the WAC doesn’t have an FCS League or even teams. Dixie St would not even count as a DI member for five years so the WAC can’t count apparently. This could set of a chain reaction in the WAC, the Big Sky, the Big West and the Summit. Dixie St should be much more competive than nearby Southern Utah just based on their locations as St George is much more populous than Cedar City.
  9. Grand Forks-based SkySkopes had this written up about their activity in Minot and the Bakken. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/north-dakota/articles/2019-01-07/minot-tech-company-looks-ahead-to-growth-in-bakken-region
  10. Another article about UNLV hockey wanting to be DI. Englestad’s and a needed $15 -20 million are mentioned. https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/sports-columns/ed-graney/unlv-hockey-club-desperate-for-money-ncaa-division-i-status-1566599/?returnUrl=https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/sports-columns/ed-graney/unlv-hockey-club-desperate-for-money-ncaa-division-i-status-1566599/?clearUserState=true
  11. Listened to too many Auburn fans I guess. My apologies to Nick Saban for spreading wrong info. Many Bama and Auburn fans don't consider Catholic much different than pagan as you probably see in the Panhandle. Been to EWTN HQ near Cullman. They are many very devout Christians there. In Mobile, there were many charismatic Catholics, which are rather rare worldwide and are nearly Pentecostal. They believe in a Shemitah, which you laugh at.
  12. You mixed them up with NDSU. Clemson gets a lot of players from outside that upstate region. Clemson as a town is not much bigger than Jamestown. One won't hear Saban preaching and quoting Scripture because he is an atheist. Tuscaloosa and that part of Bama nearly have a hell address.
  13. Admire Upstate SC so much. There is something about that region that is so pure and is reflected in the Clemson team. Talking about spiritual blessings,
  14. Denver 87 UND 66 Denver hit 58% of 3 attempts and had 27 points from more 3pt shots than UND, an almost impossible 3pt advantage for DU.
  15. NDSU will not get an invite from an existing FBS conference, period. Those conference like the MAC or MWC would end up cutting their own schools CFP allotment as it maxes out at 10 portions for G5 conferences. G5 schools want more money, not less, and adding a small media market like Fargo would get one laughed out of a room. NDSU has two options for FBS: Either take the Liberty route and go it alone, but major money would have to be expended to get four FBS teams to come to the FargoDome, or a much more cost effective way is to start a new FBS conference with at least 8 wannabe FBS members, and that way the required FBS games at home are built in. There is a thread on that idea by me, but too few take it seriously and bison trolls hate it because UND is included.
  16. The School Board has proposed demolishing Winship, Wilder and West and consolidate them in a new north end school for facility reasons. Don’t know why West can’t get students from west of the interstate as Lake Agassiz is full. All the farm/rural kids used to go to West anyway so there was a bus.
  17. 80-59 Final UND made 15 of 31 three pointers with Moody scoring 7 of them, Surprised Bijiek isn't playing more as he had big time offers.
  18. The answer was Winship. The parents were almost all working class that unfortunately did not instill a sense of achievement or aspiration early. Those kids poisoned GFC as they did not posess school spirit or anything. But they did get a turn out for their smoking and drug sessions. They did not have an effect on GFC athletics much as they almost all didnt participate. West and Lake Agassiz then had a large % of parents that were UND profs. Likely has changed now.
  19. Where will you, Goon and bison trolls go for their daily hate fix? That's the question.
  20. Speaking of the cliques, Central had a group of wanna be west side story students that didn’t want to amount to anything. The students mostly came from the same elementary school and made hell for anyone else at their Jr High (now middle school). They were almost all the smokers and dope addicts. If you were studious, popular, or athletic, you did not fit in. Can anyone name the elementary school?
  21. It could be the Arizona Coyotes who some say will be moving to Houston at the end of the season. The Houston prospective owner has been making a fuss about a having smaller than $650 mill expansion franchise fee and relocations are often cheaper. Austin won’t have an arena then, and neither will Seattle.
  22. If the announcements aren’t made by July 1st, 2019, I’ll shut my trap permanently to this board about Summit movement. But UND’s DI hopes for a stable conference would be over permanently too. Both Dixie St and Metro St of Denver are scheduled to announce plans in January and look for them both to end up in the Big Sky. They may announce for the WAC but get traded. EWU, the Montanas, Idaho, and Weber st will announce plans soon after.
  23. PUFW 104 SDSU 88 Final The UND loss to PUFW looks better now, but the ORU one hurts.
  24. My point is you don’t have a clue about finances and simple arithmetic as I did them in my head when I read that article but you accuse me anyway.. Maybe if they get concessions from the adjoining fb stadium OVG can make a profit.
  25. Talk about missing points. Had a link from MSNBC saying the Trump will resign in two weeks. It’s now past two weeks but it was published so by you it had to be true. News sources aren’t always news as you insist as being legitimate. Get you wife on, as she provide all your points so you have some ammunition.
