After the best disciplined game last week, this has been the ugliest half of the season. Hard to watch, as there is no tempo.

Pryor doesn't seem capable but making in-game adjustments, like the ISU coach did. Pryor and Jones share a lot of attributes at UND: both seem to be excellent recruiters, develop their players, and have good plans going into a game, but don't ask them to make a mid game strategy correction or embrace the community.

He doesn't know the difference between a numerator and denominator. That is beyond the capacity of a former bison player.

You and your cohorts have been stating the travel costs of the Sky were bankrupting us for years. Or is that false too in your small bizon brain?

Maybe a nine game WAC schedule by 2020 is real. Nine conference games works when in an FBS league with 10 or more teams, as their are still 3 OOC games. It wouldn't work at the FCS level. Why were Kennedy and Zink at Stanford today conferring with Purpur? Getting PR suggestions for a big announcement? Fully expect the WAC to have more than 10, maybe 12 teams, when they start a transition in 2020.

Revenge is a dish best served cold: UND vs. ISU
SiouxVolley replied to siouxfan512's topic in Football
Will Bubba take the team to the UND-ISU volleyball game tonight? Very unusual that those two teams away schedules overlap. -
You and others have the patience of a bull in a China closet. Waiting for anything just isn't possible with your small bizon brain. According to you, we should have been a Slummit member by now.

So Kennedy and Deanna Zink went to Palo Alto to discuss things with Purpur? Maybe how to announce a major gift or conference move?- 2,150 replies

It won't get Idaho and the Montanas to join if it doesnt. The NCAA rules are more lenient with non football conferences anyway, as they require them for bball autobids.- 2,150 replies

Conferences without football need two men's team sports besides bball. An FCS WAC won't have any sports requirement except the obvious fb and bb. It's really simple.- 2,150 replies

UMKC doesn't have baseball. NMSU doesn't have mens soccer. The WAC has plenty of MWC teams in that sport.- 2,150 replies

As said before, tennis and softball will be cut, as they are non campus sports. UND will go to the WAC with Idaho and the Montanas. The WAC doesnt require those sports.- 2,150 replies

The IAC is just a normal academic committee now, if it suggests no cuts so everyone can stay mediocre or below in performance. Bernie Sanders would be proud.- 2,150 replies

NAU seems to have an abundance of spikers with power, which isn't exactly our strong point. They will be tough to beat.

Cruzado at MSU practically runs Montana higher education now anyway. She will get what she wants, which is the WAC. And Coach Weir said that he probably shouldn't mention what was coming down because it's above his pay grade and Commissioner Jeff (Hurd) would be not be pleased. This will be a split BSC to get a true league champion that plays every team. All it needs is six FCS schools from the Big Sky for an autobid to be automatically granted. WAC UND - UMKC UNC - Denver UTRGV - NMSU Idaho - E Wash Mont - Mont St One more FCS team is needed, as Idaho isn't FCS yet. Probably Idaho St. It won't talk FBS until after it adds Wichita St football. After a few years, No Col and Idaho St can move back to the Big Sky. If UND can't get an FBS stadium down the road, NDSU will swap conferences with us, as that is the only way they would get an FBS invite. The WAC is the most esteemed conference in FCS by FCS Presidents, because it can grant FBS status to members. The BSC Presidents look at the WAC as an absolute necessity to take over. Otherwise the MVC or Southland might try some kind of swap with it.

Outside hitters like Bruggeman, Merseli, and Kaczorowska seemed to have really stepped up their games. Merseli and Fraase seem to have upped their defensive games and Griffin has been outstanding at setting. Before, the offense seemed to rely too much on Moser and Dooley, but it's more balanced now. NAU, SAC, and UNC will be tough, but a BSC championship is in reach.

Very impressed with the development of young players. To think that WR was a weak spot after Clive went down. Now Toivonen, Wanzek, and Mercer have really stepped up. Running back situation was thought to be weak if Santiago went down. Gordon and Norberg have really stepped up. Pass defense and special teams defense has some holes to fill, but SUU had some real offensive weapons. This game was the most impressive showing so far. Schweigert's systems of emphasizing turnover margin really seems to be working now.

At the WAC media day for men's basketball, NMSU Coach Weir said football schools will be coming in and the WAC will be a football conference again. Said something like WAC Commish Hurd will likely hate this and he's not allowed to talk about that and then he shut up. At the 9:30 mark: http://Wacsports.com/watch/?Archive=146

They weren't yelling in German or Finnish or Swedish, but I guess that's possible.

The last few years since, have been to several women's hockey games. Been surprised at the attendance and how much the fans are into it. Usually a pep band is there, when the valley and bball teams often don't have that. Without checking, it doesn't seem like hockey, but that just me. They are some very passionate UND womens hockey fans at the games though, and that is falsely denied here.
-
I support women's hockey at UND, as it could and should be championship caliber. But think there is a way to cut REA costs and increase REA revenue. Upgrade the seating in the Olympic Arena to more like the Betty with leather seats. Play most of the women's games there except the Gophers and Badgers. That leaves the REA open on more weekends for concerts and maybe an occasional BB game against NDSU or SD teams or even the Gophers. REA revenue would increase and athletic expenses go down. Minnie and Wisconsin WHCKY play in much smaller arenas than their men's team. Why doesn't UND?

And most of it is designated for existing scholarships or departments. General athletic funds aren't something the Foundation can give much to. Their hands are tied.- 2,150 replies
