Looks like we've really been able recruit some height in the last two classes.

Jeremiah Larsen is new coach of Weber State. I believe he was one of the finalists for UND's job last year. http://www.bigskyconf.com/news/2015/1/9/WVBALL_0109152817.aspx

Beating NDSU would be the single most important thing that UND can do to make it football program relevant. I'm not saying that it can't happen without it, but it will happen much faster with it. If it doesn't happen in the regular season, we should be hoping to meet them in the FCS playoffs, otherwise the next chance isn't until 2019. I'm guessing Bubba knows it, but September 19, 2015 will probably be the biggest football game of his life. I think all of us fans agree that Bubba has a vision to dethrone the powers of FCS, and is executing it the way we would want him to.

So far, I'm on board with Warriors or Arrows. I think both of those go along well with our current allowed imagry (i.e. Sioux heads, Sitting Bull statue), but doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with Indians. Please, no animals of any kind. One possibilty that I have not seen anywhere is the Auroras, as in the northern lights. That is definitely regional, and their predominant color is green.

I don't UND will be able to pull it out this time. Probably lose by 12-15 points.

Technically, UND is not the underdog. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-women/d1/ncaa-womens-basketball-rpi However, Minnesota has received votes in the AP poll. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-women/d1/associated-press

Northern Colorado swept Idaho St. To win the Big Sky championship. they started the year slow, but really turned it on when it counted. I hope they can knock off their NCAA tournament opponent and represent Big Sky VB well. One year soon UND will have that chance.
-
So, will we have a QB competition again for next season? Go!
-
Setting will be the key next season. We'll have the hitters, I am confident about that. Was hoping for more than a loss in the semifinals to send off Husfeldt and Robinson. They've been rocks for this team.
-
Big Sky semifinals 1) Idaho State 5) Northern Arizona 2) North Dakota 3) Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado wins in 3. They should be a very tough opponent for UND tomorrow.
-
I know there are travel issues by having the top seed host, but I love that system, and I hope the Big Sky doesn't mess with it too much. Last year's WBB tourney at the Betty was really fun, and I hope we do that for volleyball soon.

I'm not sure how the tickets are set up - my guess is that one ticket is good for all day. In this case, I would probably go to the second two games, but probably wouldn't take off work to see the day games. Presuming UND wins the quaterfinal, on the second day, I would attend both semi-final games. Regardless of who plays in the championship, I would go to that.
-
Took a little while to get rolling, but I never feared. I would say they have to put forth a little better execution in the semi-final if they want to advance, though.

We had no trouble with Montana this year, and looked especially dominant the last meeting. Hopefully that continues, but you know what they say about beating a team 3 times in one season...

I've been out of town a number of times this fall and have watched football and volleyball on the Watch Big Sky app, and I can easily say that UND is the class of the Big Sky when it comes to producing games.

That's astonishing in this day and age.

In the newspaper article, it states she's a senior, but in the video, it states she's a junior. I wonder which is correct?

SWmnsioux, I missed your post before typing mine!

With the win, Is it possible for UND to finish lower than 3rd?
-
As long as we don't finish lower than 3. I don't really see any distinct advantage of being the 2 seed over the 3 seed, with one exception: As a two seed, the quarter final game is the first one on Thursday. So we could win that one, and have all day to scout what the other teams are doing. (The 3 seed game is the second, which is not bad either). Dropping to 4 or 5 would not be good. There's really only 5 good teams this year in the Big Sky, and I don't want to play one of the other good teams in the quarterfinals, then (most likely) have to face Idaho State in the semifinals.

I would guess recruiting for 2015 is done or close to done. Pryor has all the tools he needs now to fill the gaps. Fraase - Plays middle at Shanley, but I think Pryor will move her to outside since I read a year ago that she has been working on all facets of the game, which means she should be able to dig. Mattson - Plays setter at Grand Rapids. She will back up Griffin. Spacek - Plays middle for Orono, and I think Pryor keeps her there. Dominguez - Plays defensive specialist Place - She will play OH. These freshmen (though probably not Mattson) should be able to push for playing time right away. I see some very good competition amongst teammates for regular spots in the lineup. But that also means we should have very competent back-ups, too. The key to success next year will be setting. Nikki Husfeldt will go down as a legend in this program.

Awesome article. It sounds like we're getting a taller Lexi Robinson. If Sydney Griffin can set, next year's team should be scary good.

I can't find out the tiebreaker procedure if teams split the regular season. Anybody know?
