  1. I agree that we didn't play the dominating game that I think we are capable of. They were serving and spiking towards Courtney Place a lot, making the 6'2" hitter take the bump rather than our excellent (and much shorter) defensive specialists (Hart, Clarke). I'm guessing the strategy there is that it would get her out of rhythm from her spiking game, or even force Griffin to set to someone else. Place did have the kill of the night, in my opinion, towards the very end of the fifth set. Absolutely crushed a cut shot from the left side. It was a message to Green Bay that "You're not gonna win this game, and here's what I'm doing about it!"

    Drake is next.

A good radio would probably pick up 970 AM out of Fargo from Bemidji, possibly even 550 AM out of Bismarck, which has a huge range.
  3. I asked coach Pryor this, and he is planning to redshirt her. He says there's a logjam at her position now anyways, and the extra year will help her adjust to the speed of the college game.
  4. 29-27 loss in set 4.
  5. UND gets set 3 with a little more breathing room 25-18.
  6. Another extended set 26-24, UND on top this time.
  7. 21-20. gB takes a TO.
  8. 21-16 UWGB. UND takes second time out.
  9. It was a long drawn out affair, but UND falls in Set 1 27-25. All four team time outs were taken, plus media, so it was a long set. UND led 5-1 to start, but GB caught back up, and it was close the rest of the way.
  10. UND leads 2-0 over SDSU. I don't think they have trailed.
  11. Great way to kick off the season. I just bought season tickets on Monday, so I'll be at the Al next Saturday giving these boys a warm welcome home!
  12. I see that Sydney Griffin was setting, so that's good news. This team is very young up front, led by a freshman and a sophomore this game. The setter is also a sophomore. Extremely encouraging that they already "know how to win."
  13. Looks like a 16-14 win in Set 5. What a way to start the season!
  14. fraase looked all right - she was on the B squad. Like I mentioned in my first post, Place and Harnett are most impressive. Both of them were playing on the A squad. The other A squad players were Moser, Dooley, Julia K, Hart, Clarke, and Mattson was setting.
  15. I was hoping my work schedule would allow me to go to the Iowa state tournament, but alas I cannot.
  16. According to a parent that i was sitting by, it's her back. I have no further information. Scrimmage just ended. From what I can tell, it was A squad vs. B squad. A squad won all three sets.
  17. Mattson is a fine setter, so I'm not too worried If Griffin can't play right away. I don't know if there's a backup backup setter.
  18. Amanda Harnett is a lefty, too, so that will come in handy to keep defenses guessing.
  19. Julia Spacek is the other girl on the bench. Kristen G seems to have gotten better.
  20. I got to Betty a little late. Sophomore setter Sydney Griffin is on the bench, as is another girl who I can't figure out. Freshman Sidney Mattson is setting for one team, and assistant coach Mia Tabberson is setting for the other. Courtney Place and Amanda Harmett have some power.
  21. I plan to be at the scrimmage, and will try to post as much as deemed reasonable. Very excited to see the ladies on the court!
  22. Grand Junction is open - I went over there last week at lunch time, but the place was packed. I had my first Tim Horton's experience instead.
  23. Yes, obviously no clear-cut front runner. 12 first place votes spread among 4 teams!
  24. UND picked third in conference pre-season poll. http://bigskyconf.com/news/2015/8/11/WVBALL_0811155355.aspx

    2015 season

I looked a few pages back, and couldn't find anyone talking about this. Per Tom Miller: Nevermann back in the mix: The future of the UND running game received a boost of news late this summer. It now appears Wyoming transfer Oscar Nevermann will return to the team when school starts in the fall. Nevermann, who participated in spring drills, had previously told the staff he was looking to transfer elsewhere. Nevermann, a native of Sweden, isn’t eligible to play in 2015 because Wyoming didn’t waive his one-year transfer rule. Wyoming has that right because UND is on the team’s 2015 schedule. - See more at: http://millersports.areavoices.com/2015/08/06/some-und-fb-media-day-notes/#sthash.XP22jnlC.dpuf
