Great way to kick off the season. I just bought season tickets on Monday, so I'll be at the Al next Saturday giving these boys a warm welcome home!
-
I see that Sydney Griffin was setting, so that's good news. This team is very young up front, led by a freshman and a sophomore this game. The setter is also a sophomore. Extremely encouraging that they already "know how to win."
-
Looks like a 16-14 win in Set 5. What a way to start the season!
-
fraase looked all right - she was on the B squad. Like I mentioned in my first post, Place and Harnett are most impressive. Both of them were playing on the A squad. The other A squad players were Moser, Dooley, Julia K, Hart, Clarke, and Mattson was setting.
-
I was hoping my work schedule would allow me to go to the Iowa state tournament, but alas I cannot.
-
According to a parent that i was sitting by, it's her back. I have no further information. Scrimmage just ended. From what I can tell, it was A squad vs. B squad. A squad won all three sets.
-
Mattson is a fine setter, so I'm not too worried If Griffin can't play right away. I don't know if there's a backup backup setter.
-
Amanda Harnett is a lefty, too, so that will come in handy to keep defenses guessing.
-
Julia Spacek is the other girl on the bench. Kristen G seems to have gotten better.
-
I got to Betty a little late. Sophomore setter Sydney Griffin is on the bench, as is another girl who I can't figure out. Freshman Sidney Mattson is setting for one team, and assistant coach Mia Tabberson is setting for the other. Courtney Place and Amanda Harmett have some power.

I plan to be at the scrimmage, and will try to post as much as deemed reasonable. Very excited to see the ladies on the court!

Grand Junction is open - I went over there last week at lunch time, but the place was packed. I had my first Tim Horton's experience instead.
-
Yes, obviously no clear-cut front runner. 12 first place votes spread among 4 teams!

I looked a few pages back, and couldn't find anyone talking about this. Per Tom Miller: Nevermann back in the mix: The future of the UND running game received a boost of news late this summer. It now appears Wyoming transfer Oscar Nevermann will return to the team when school starts in the fall. Nevermann, who participated in spring drills, had previously told the staff he was looking to transfer elsewhere. Nevermann, a native of Sweden, isn’t eligible to play in 2015 because Wyoming didn’t waive his one-year transfer rule. Wyoming has that right because UND is on the team’s 2015 schedule. - See more at: http://millersports.areavoices.com/2015/08/06/some-und-fb-media-day-notes/#sthash.XP22jnlC.dpuf

2015 roster released. http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&SPID=6387&SPSID=58559&DB_OEM_ID=13500 No surprises from what had been discussed in previous threads.

George Gwozdecky to leave Lightning to pursue other opportunities
Dustin replied to rhenry8439's topic in Men's Hockey
I'll say he ends up at Wisconsin, his alma mater. Then watch out for the Badgers! -
Not sure why, but Pioske struggled under Pryor. After she had a some bad games, he pulled her in favor of other players. She eventually did start producing, but there may have been some rift between them. Was she a player we wanted to lose? No. But I think Pryor has brought in players that will more than make up for her departure. I think Pryor is recruiting an even higher brand of volleyball. 2015 should be the tallest team we've seen since I started paying attention (around 2010).

Kevin Camy on the o-line will not disappoint, I'm predicting.

Scrimmage just ended. Here's my observations from a non- football mind. Others may provide better or alternative opinions! Studsrud had the better day at quarterback. Bartels threw at least two interceptions, one in the end zone. Stud stud would have had an interception if the defender hadn't dropped it. Punt team had a punt from the offense 40 yard line downed at the defense 1 yard line. Austin Cieslak had a fumble recovery that would have gone for touchdown. Josh seibel had several receptions. Offense #5 (not shown on the roster) never gives up on a play. On a fourth and inches from the goal line, the call was a pass to the corner of the end zone, which was completed. Very gutsy call if done in a game. Never been to a spring game before, so I can't judge the crowd, but there were more people here than I expected - probably around 1,000. Hopefully I'm not the only one who writes, because im pretty hopeless when it comes to a football mind!

With the sun out, the temp warmed into the 50s. Wind from the east less than 10 mph.

Turning into a beautiful day here at Memorial Stadium.
-
Just talked to the wife, and I plan on being there!
-
I can't decide what camp I'm in: on the one hand, you have, what appears, to be a complete lack of respect for the football program - stadium booked on the day of the spring game, moved to a facility that cannot handle a crowd, no video coverage of any kind. On the other hand, maybe this is what the staff wants - be stealth now, and totally sneak up on people come next fall.

That was January 9-10, 2009. UND also had good showings against the Gophers October 16, 2009 (4-0) and March 12, 2010 (WCHA best of 3 game 1, score was 6-0). Everyone of those blowouts was absolutely fantastic to be a Sioux fan!
