I believe so. I did the research a few nights ago, and I didn’t see a North Dakotan on any of the other gold medal rosters.

I swear the US scored on a delayed penalty yesterday but then wasn't awarded the power play. I am not remembering that right?

I agree with this mostly. In my eyes, I do see the possibility of NHL fans (and not necessarily college hockey fans) watching the game (especially this year with no NHL ongoing at the momemt), which would help widen the exposure of college hockey to NHL fans. (Maybe I'm completely off base here; do NHL broadcasters ever mention where the players were before the NHL? I'm not an NHL viewer, so I don't know). I'm guessing Starman would be completely unwelcome as a Canadian color (colour?!) commentator if he kept talking about college hockey, but I agree, it would be a great promotion of the college game to a Canadian audience.

You're probably right as pure broadcasting talent goes, but I doubt the TSN announcers plug college hockey during the telecast like Starman does, which is a good thing IMO.

Awesome! A Christmas present for UND football.

I personally loved the pod from a TV viewing standpoint. Getting to watch UND play a hockey game every couple of days for 3 weeks straight was awesome. Having that many talented hockey teams all playing each other in one place was very reminiscent of the World Juniors. Which by the way starts later this week, so it's like double hockey Christmas!

That's the kind of accolades we want to have on our squad. I like where things are going.

Same problem I was having.

I think the Summit is already there, and if UND adds competition to an already established league, all the better for everybody. Plus, the Summit has one of the best conference tournaments. My dream for UND basketball is to get to a point where conference championships are a potential every year, and the fans follow the team to Sioux Falls just like they follow the hockey team to St. Paul.

I would give Scheel the nod tonight against a rival and coming off his shutout last game. Thome can play Sunday against WMU to get his feet wet.

I'm hoping the "wrench" thrown at FCS football this year is one that "tightens" (builds up) UND and "loosens" (dismantles) NDSU.

I wonder what (or if) the TV deal is for the Omaha portion. Midco has an Omaha presence, I believe, so hopefully we'll see the games. -
I attended the St. Louis Frozen Four in 2007, my first ever. I had been to St. Louis as a kid, so the novelty as a new city wasn't there. Here's what I remember about it: The people of the city generally didn't know what a "Frozen Four" is, which can be a problem in general with college hockey in markets without a college team. Attendance at the games, however, was record setting at the time. (Only Ford Field in 2010 has a higher championship game attendance). The weather was chilly (I want to say highs in the 40s), which was unfortunate considering it had potential for good weather (Average high in early April is low 60s). On Friday, I visited the Larimore Plantation, which is source of the town name Larimore, ND, my hometown. I saw Ryan Duncan win the Hobey, which was the hockey highlight of the trip. Friday night, I was at a blues joint and made friends with a Michigan State fan. The Spartans went on to win the National Championship the next night, so I was happy for him. I don't remember what I did on Saturday during the day. Unfortunately, the Cardinals were not playing at home that weekend. Sunday morning, which was Easter, was the flight back to Grand Forks and I think the high temperature was something like 14. Overall, the St. Louis sports commission seemed pretty excited to host, even if the people weren't necessarily aware. With the Blues winning the Stanley Cup recently, (and no more Rams) hockey might be more at the forefront of the St. Louis sports scene. If the Frozen Four coincides with the Cardinals at home, I think it would be a pretty good site.

I agree, and some of their competition might be the opposite. I feel like we could do good things in the upcoming season.

Nice job by the coaches to get this one.

I'm not sure what's happening here - he's committed to UND but his recruitment is still open?
-
WIthout that eagle on the 16th, I'm sure it would have gone to a playoff with so many tied near/at the top. That eagle was a thing of beauty, though.

I’m assuming that the move to MVFC has no effect on Midco’s right to televise home games?

“Me and my teammates are very determined to turn this team into a national champion,” Navratil said. “I believe that we can grab a title in my years here. We’re changing the work ethic to get what we deserve.” Yes, please!!!!

One common thread I've noticed for the 2021 recruits is that the coaching staff is really giving them the feel of a "family" atmosphere, like "home."
