Thanks for the negative vote, but I do hope that UND has success in FCS. But FCS football is not all that impressive. It's the honest truth.

I know UND fans that wear hockey jerseys because its the only college program in North Dakota history to win a real Division 1 championship, and UND hockey has done it 7 times. You might think your cow college football team has won a Division 1 title, but in reality, there's over 120 real division 1 programs contending for the real division 1 title. NDSU's small time college football success should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as UND's real division 1 success in hockey.

Those were the days. I definitely took those conference and national championships for granted at the time.

Being off sanctions for the past three years sure hasn't seemed to help this football team. If I see another season like this, we might as well go back to the "Fighting Sioux" because this team is never going to put itself in the position (making the playoffs) for sanctions to even matter.

From a trademark/trade name standpoint, UND will not have any issues moving forward with any of the five potential nicknames. This Cedar Rapids and Bismarck mayor stuff is a bunch of nonsense.

This (along with the North Stars) controversy is completely a non-issue.

Have it both ways then. But considering what the NCAA has said, and that you wouldn't put "anything" past them, I just question why you would risk the future of UND athletics--that is, unless you don't care about the future of UND athletics.

And yet, you openly wear Fighting Sioux gear to UND sporting events despite knowing that the NCAA has threatened sanctions if schools complain about fans wearing Fighting Sioux gear to UND sporting events. I mean, you wouldn't put that or "anything" past the NCAA, right? Too bad you're not looking out for UND's interests like me and the rest of us.

If you're so scared about the possibility of sanctions against UND then you wouldn't wear Fighting Sioux clothes to a UND game. So you either aren't really scared about the possibility of sanctions against UND or you don't care about UND. Oh, and by the way, move along.

Again, whether or not there is a new nickname, the report from UND's office was that if other schools complain, the NCAA would investigate, and it might, might result in sanctions. If the anti-no nickname crowd actually cared about UND like they allege they do, they should make a bigger effort to stomp out the use of Fighting Sioux at UND games regardless of a new nickname. Instead, we have people like fightingsioux4life, who obviously cares nothing about UND, and says he's going to continue to wear Fighting Sioux gear at UND games regardless of what the NCAA says. If sanctions occur, I guess I know where to point the finger!

True. The tread title actually pertained to the settlement agreement and addendum. Darell, 82SiouxGuy, Sioux83, Sicatoka, and a few others all claimed that "no nickname" would violate the settlement agreement and result in sanctions. They were wrong, as usual. Now, some of them are creating assumptions from hearsay to fulfill their own personal belief that the NCAA will sanction UND at all costs. It's as if these guys want nothing more than UND to get punished. Kind of odd if you ask me.

How is it that you know for a fact St. Cloud State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota will all go "complain" to the NCAA because someone's wearing a fighting sioux jersey? How is that you know for a fact that the NCAA will sanction UND as a result of this fan wearing a fighting sioux jersey?

I don't recall seeing anything about sanctions resulting from "one person" complaining. I do, however, know that the NCAA allegedly saying that if "schools" (meaning more than one) complained, the NCAA would then investigate the situation, which "might, might" result in sanctions.
