I'll grant you that. Yes. UND's OL losses shouldn't break the offense like our OL losses did after the spring season. This time around, there is tons of time to find OL transfers to come in and contribute. I understand that you said it "might" break the offense, not that it "will" break the offense, however. Coaching staff needs to hit on some OL and Defensive transfers this offseason, and I'm not super confident yet that they will.

NDSU has had a ton of portal losses. This year is the exception isn't it?

They posted an rfp for this and they gave the bidders an option to give an offer for hockey jerseys as well, separately. Results of the rfp scoring were posted on the rfp website and it should be addidas again, but ccm for hockey. There was an addidas offer for hockey as well, but it didn't score as high as ccm. New Balance and Under Armour were the other options I believe. Don't recall seeing a Nike bid. I think the Addidas bid was from Game One, rather than Addidas itself.

I really wish this would stop being referred to as NIL.

Haven't listened to this one yet, but I bet it's interesting.

They need it. Maybe it goes toward salaries and Montana doesn't steal our OL coach next time.

Looks like UAA had legit renderings made when they were looking into renovating their existing arena. I don't think these are currently being considered, now that they seem to be trying for the P3 approach with an entirely new building. Interesting, never the less. https://seawolfhockeyalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Rink-Feasibility-Study-Test-Fit_07.05.22_Reduced.pdf Some of the pictures from link:

Agreed. Except in ND Bismarck is apparently becoming a 4 year school and joining the NAIA. https://www.naia.org/general/2023-24/releases/NewMemberRelease_Spring2024

Could probably be done with badges through the Invision Community message board software. There are donation features that are available. Probably a lot to ask for from the the people who manage this board though. Worst thing that could probably happen though, imo, are locked message board sections for donors only - really think a strategy like that would kill traffic.

Now I'm curious about UTRGV and Liberty

I think we will eventually see some improvements, but I don't have any first hand knowledge, so I haven't posted anything about this and I don't know if or how much this will affect the streaming platform, but this is what I think I know....... I think the software comes from a company called Accedo (their case study on Midco here) (their discription of their OTT sports streaming product here). Why I think we may see improvements is because Accedo recently purchased Easel TV, which appears to have a better streaming platform that is available through pretty much every app store, including Samsung, LG, AndroidTV, Tivo, Chomecast, etc. Accedo says the Easel brand name will be phased out, and and operations will be continued under the Accedo brand name, out of the same office. I think Accedo purchased Easel TV, in part, to utilize the company's existing technology, which could potentially be used to improve Accedo's sports streaming product, and therefore, Midco Sports Plus. I don't know that for certain, however, and I haven't seen any reporting on this, but it's something I've kept an eye on.

I think Midco is going to go after the CCHA streaming rights. As far as I can tell, the CCHA contract with Flo expires at the end of this year, and Midco would probably like the streaming rights to Augie games if they are going to be producing and broadcasting them. There are a bunch of other synergies as well. This would align with their comments about investing in streaming. CCHA announces streaming partnership, beginning with 2021-2022 season CCHA launches all-new CCHA TV on FloSports (first paragraph says 3 season) I'm trying to think of other potential leagues, but the MVFC, MIAC, and NSIC just announced new streaming deals of their own, in August 2023. Curious about the NCHC, but I'm not sure a Midco deal would make sense, financially, for the NCHC. NCHC.TV seems to be doing well well, but perhaps a deal with Midco would allow the other schools to siphon off some of the streaming revenue that UND is currently generating through the existing NCHC.TV arrangement, which sends about 85% of revenue to member schools based on fan affiliation. Streaming for both the CCHA and NCHC is $30 a month, 3 times the price of Midco, so I'm curious how that would be handled.

What do you mean by the word "platform"?

For the record, YSU is broke and the MAC hasn't shown interest in them. I also don't see why YSU would be interested in joining Summit football without the MVFC schools. Travel would be way worse, and they would have to play SDSU and NDSU every year, and the program is already barely hanging on, middle of the pack. That said, I still don't think Summit starting football with the MVFC schools is off the table, especially if Missouri State bolts. Although I don't agree about YSU, I do think Indiana State could very well shut down their FB program any point as well. Should Missouri State bolt, I'd like to a great riff between the public and private schools develop within the MVC, and if they add schools, hope that they are private, don't have FB, and are East or SE of the current footprint.

So NDSU grants $10 million more than UND in tuition waviers, has a budget mess, and then received $5 million from the state with no strings attached, correct? "In 2022-2023, NDSU granted more than $22 million in partial and full waivers benefitting more than 5,600 students. UND granted just over $12 million in those waivers, benefitting nearly 2,000 students."

That's false, unless you want to qualify that statement by claiming the covid season doesn't count.
-
That would be me. Depends on how many people you're buying for. Plus however much food costs if you're doing both games Friday.

I still think that's the biggest issue. I was a Gopher fan before attending UND, and growing up we would play knee hockey with the Gopher games always on in the background. With the current TV setup, we never would have known how to find the games, and our parents never took us to watch in person. They lost a ton of exposure from younger hockey fans with the move to the Big Ten.
