  1. I think NDSU may be looking at an issue similar to what Gopher Hockey faced after the Big Ten was formed. Just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if businesses own a decent chunk of NDSU's tickets that go unused. The businesses didn't really seem to sell them ever, especially if for a loss. Fan apathy. People have "been there & done that", and the band wagon fans aren't interested in watching a team that no longer has the same hype and excitement around it. Dom and McFeely and Kolpack trashing FCS on the TV and in print, nearly non stop, can't help at all either. They are constantly belittling the FCS, similar to how people (justifiably) were crapping all of the Big Ten Hockey conference and how bad it was. This did and does make winning feel less good, so that reduces how much time and money fans are willing to invest (is return worth the investment) NDSU losing to SDSU 5X in a row and now UND and USD this year reminds me of the Gophers record vs MN schools from about 2013-2020. SDSU stole NDSU's thunder similar to how UMD won 2 or 3 national championships, along with SCSU, Mankato, UND, and Denver all having national success. Gophers program/fandom is now on the upswing again, imo. NDSU is going to get worse before they get better. They have to hit rock bottom.
  2. I don't see any reason not to expect sell outs at the Alerus Center given that NDSU could draw 18-19 K and UND can sell 11.5K twice a weekend for hockey. For that to happen, UND needs more buy-in from casual sports fans and hockey fans. I think that is happening, slowly. Finally getting an NDSU win will help in the long run with the casual fans. Most of the schools you're referring to also have much larger stadiums though. Not really a ton of apples to apples comparisons from stadium/program/institution standpoint across the FCS. Idaho may be the closest comparison, maybe? UND's FB program is extremely unique when you compare us to other schools across the national landscape.
  3. I agree, but don't forget to deduct 52% for the REA.
  4. Was looking at Elon's basketball schedule and a logo on there caught my attention.
  5. That's was a BS flag. Don't blame the players at all. ( on that specific play)
  6. Whoever doesn't cheer for both is missing out.
  7. We were moving the ball fine with our running backs. Sacks count as rushes in NCAA stats FYI.
  8. Started 3rd Quarter up 10 and these are the only rushing plays in the second half.. wtf. 1st & 10 at UND 20 (11:37 - 3rd) Gaven Ziebarth run for 3 yds to the ..was up 10, punted 1st & 10 at UND 26 (6:51 - 3rd) Isaiah Smith run for 4 yds to the UND 30, 1st & 10 at SDAK 43 (6:51 - 3rd) Isaiah Smith run for 19 yds to the SDAK 24 for a 1ST down ..was up 3, missed 46 yard fg after getting sacked 1st & 10 at UND 39 (1:42 - 3rd) Sawyer Seidl run for 6 yds to the UND 45, 3rd & 4 at UND 45 (1:42 - 3rd) Isaiah Smith run for 3 yds to the UND 48.. was still up 3, punt New drive, Gained 2 yards and didn't run, down 4, punted 1st & 10 at UND 22 (3:20 - 4th) Isaiah Smith run for 7 yds to the UND 29 . Then Turnover on downs and Game Over.
  9. Ok this coaching staff can !@#$ off. All they had to do is run the ball. Look at the frickin stats.
  10. Should have ran the ball every play 3rd quarter.
  11. We have got to be the most unlucky school ever when it comes to names/logos and branding. Literally.
  12. I agree with you. But this is worse than the normal Fighting Hawks logo and blowing it up like that makes it look low budget.
  13. We already had a secondary logo is the problem. Need to develop a primary logo rather than a worse secondary logo.
  14. If not the logo that we had been using, woulda preferred a concept like this. At least it would be a little bit fun.
  15. Absolutely hate it! Literally embarrassed.
  16. Bison could miss the playoffs.
  17. Agreed with the above. It would be helpful that if we abandon the run because we are down, that they also attempt more passes downfield rather than short 2-6 yard receptions that take as much time off the clock as running the ball does.
  18. VS UNI... I get it Ziebarth got hurt. But we can move the ball on the ground in our losses but we choose not to.
  19. I was going to ask if you saw the NDSU game so I looked up the stats. Tommy did fine, but wow! I didn't realize we were that heavy on the run game vs them. We were moving the ball well on the ground vs Boise. Would have loved to see how that game played out had we committed to it. This is the first drive of the second half vs SDSU. Just run the ball.... VS SDSU Ziebarth Skonka and Smith had only 13 carries combined!!!!

  21. Anyone find it odd that NESN rebroadcast the Augustana vs CC game twice? This is what CC had for TV for that game (and some of the others)
  22. What do the stats look like when UND is in an empty set?
  23. I kinda feel like when we !@#$ the bed against better teams on the road it might be a scheme thing, where better teams just don't get beat as easily by screen plays. There were quite a few situations in the Boise game that UND was moving the ball and bad play calling (imo) killed drives.
  24. What do ya know... team that loses in the non conference loses during the conference portion of the season as well. Can we promise not to cherry coat a bad non conference record ever again? UND used to compete against some of the best teams in the country. Our schedule was not that difficult to start the year and we lost to some bad teams, and we are still losing to some bad teams.
