They would have literally swindled either Denver or ORU away from the Summit League... read the pitch deck in the article.

@siouxfan97 This is off topic. You're ruining this message board with your constant negativity and low effort posts. Send an email. It's not that hard...

Reading comprehension.... poll asks people who they think will be named the starter. That's different than who people want to be named the starter.

I think they can be avoided by making large group purchases as well.

Not that I saw, but if they were to be added anywhere other than youtube, Iheart is the best bet for official radio/pod stuff (they have a contract w und). Some good stuff here fairly regularly: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1248-hawk-talk-100915705/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1248-complete-utter-nonsense-100643925/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false

If North Carolina and North Carolina State ever get programs off the ground, Wake Forest would make for a nice regional addition/rivalry. Especially at a small school like Wake Forest, hockey could help the school attract students from northern states. The hockey arena at the local fairgrounds is suitable, and it's directly adjacent to their other sports arenas/statdiums. That would probably give reason for Liberty to make the jump as well.

Missed (hockey) opportunity for Louisville. This could have been an amazing college hockey arena. Seems like the new project will be good for the city, but Louisville hockey there would be electric.

Why say stuff like that? Literally a zero percent chance of that happening.

They didnt opt in, however.

Maybe the influx of people at the air base?

Anyone know what "Forks Freightliner" is? Looks like a farly large building. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/83f7c1d340f843809bbff15fc6d722f3#data_s=id%3AdataSource_5-17af413d6ea-layer-4%3A318

That just isn't correct. I think a lot of people are confused about this. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. When a company invests in vacant land, the property value and tax assessment typically increase. To encourage investment, companies may receive a tax incentive, exempting them from paying a percentage of the increased tax assessment. However, they must still pay the pre-development tax rate. The city does not provide cash payments to the developer, and the tax revenue from the developed property does not decrease.

Please elaborate.

Where is the money coming from?

You sure complain and have brought a lot of negativity lately. I'm sure you either know where it was hosted or are capable of figuring it out. I'm happy that they hosted an in-person media day this year.

They also practiced off campus though right? Building a practice arena on campus and playing games off campus would be viable I'd think. Especially in areas without much hockey, like at BGSU, where the practice arena could also be used as a community rink to generate revenue. Would be simlar to UND and NDSU for football.

Would love to see your list at some point. I can probably help with some you could be missing. Really bugs me that hockey and Nevada is never mentioned, whatsoever, in the discussions about the new arena they are building there.

The Sharks have one pretty well known super fan who could be interested in helping to fund the team...
