  1. Disingenuous straw man argument. I didn't win - we both lost. Communicating with you was a complete waste of time.
  2. Is that your answer? Because... "others don't"? If other schools jumped off a bri Please try again. Why, specifically, is it a bad idea for UND to schedule a non conference or exhibition game vs NDSU? It's not a stupid question to ask, especially given our scheduling issues.
  3. I get that. I'm asking for specific reasons. Just saying NO isn't really contributing anything of value. Why not teach us why so the topic doesn't continue to get brought up?
  4. For a conference that loses most of it's D1 non conference games, how much, specifically, would a few extra conf vs conf games hurt? Say it's even just one extra vs NDSU every year. Is there any evedence to suggest that it would actually affect the conference negatively? Because it's not like this is FCS football. The Summit is a one bid league. If anything, the extra revenue would probably make more of a difference in the long run, imo. The incremental ticket revenue gained from playing NDSU vs a Mayville could go towards getting non conf D1 oppenents to the betty, or it could go towards the assistant coaches salary pool, food for the team, etc. At least a NDSU vs UND game keeps the conf winning percentage at .500 for the game. If that's a problem, play THEM in the exhibition game to kick off the year.
  5. Huge report on the viability of Simon Fraser Football, and athletics in general. Really interesting. Basically they will be creating a new strategic plan and will be restructuring the athletic department. Huge budget issues. If hockey ever happens, it's likely it will have to wait until this plan is complete. Seems hockey would be more viable than resurrecting FB, IMO. https://athletics.sfu.ca/news/2023/9/18/statement-on-special-advisors-report-on-football.aspx Statement on Special Advisor's Report on Football September 18, 2023 Bob Copeland, Senior Vice-President of McLaren Global Sport Solutions, appointed by SFU as an independent special advisor to explore options for a sustainable future of football at the university, has made his findings public today. The report can be found here: https://www.mclarenglobalsportsolutions.com/pdf/SFU-SpecialAdvisorReport-9-18.pdf The report is extensive. The findings confirm that SFU has no place to play football in the NCAA or in the United States. The report highlights that opportunities for SFU football in Canada need careful consideration. An application to U Sports would be a significant investment with no guaranteed outcome. Further, the matter of dual membership in two leagues would add new challenges. The university acknowledges that a key finding of the report is that we must develop a strategic plan for Athletics and Recreation that will guide decision-making as we strengthen supports for varsity programs. Some of the recommended changes are already underway, but it will take time to thoughtfully review the report and determine next steps as its suggestions impact the entire program, which includes 16 varsity teams and nearly 300 student-athletes. "On behalf of the entire SFU community, I would like to thank Mr. Copeland for the depth and thoroughness of his work, including his extensive engagement with student-athletes, coaches and staff, as well as football alumni and industry experts," says SFU President Joy Johnson. "I recognize that the findings of this report may not be what the football community had hoped for, but Mr. Copeland has made clear that our starting point now must be setting the right foundation for Athletics and Recreation." "Our dedication and support for SFU student-athletes remains our priority," says Rummana Khan Hemani, SFU Vice-Provost, Students and International. "The report is based on more than 240 interviews that shed light on areas that require a deeper look. As we work through these findings with our student-athletes, coaches and staff, we will keep the community updated. We are committed to creating a stronger Athletics and Recreation program for our students and the SFU community."
  6. I'm waiting for pause and rewind features and the ability to start an in progress game from the beginning. Simple stuff. I would like to see the MVFC move to the Summit at the same time as hockey, though. Would be irritated if UND made a move that benefited the other Dakota schools in any way, if they weren't willing to follow suit for their number 1 programs. Seperately, I don't like the MVC name being propped up by the success of Summit League schools either.
  7. Touche. I hope you're wrong.
  8. My post was about development of the QBs for 2024. Your post is off topic - see thread title.
  9. Would have been nice if the coaches would have given them some more snaps in some of our massive blowouts. One of the things that has bugged me the most about this coaching staff.
  10. I haven't read the last few pages. But this place is becoming a cess pool and it would be great if we could do our best to not drive people away. It's great to have an opinion, but people have become much more disrespectful over the past year or so... this isn't twitter.
  11. If midco improves their app it would be nice to see them add the NCHC and CCHA. The money UND gets from NCHC.TV is nice though. It will be interesting to see how many subscribers ASU brings as well. Does anyone know when the current CBSSN deal ends?
  12. I think a third game, vs NDSU, played annually in Bismarck could be kind of a neat idea. Would be a way to showcase the state universities to North Dakotans who live farther West. Could make it a neutral site tournament potentialy as well, sponsored by ND Tourism or something.
  13. For those that may be interested, I found a database from USA today that has the current salary of 1,100 FBS assistant coaches. https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/assistant
  14. Per Massey, UND had a better defense than him this year. https://masseyratings.com/cf/ncaa/ratings
  15. I'd take wildcard Bochenski over Chyzk or Bubba.
  16. I think they have the backing of the state. They're building a 8K seat, 100 million dollar basketball complex, apparently.

    ASU to NCHC

    ASU to NCHC

Interesting topic of conversation down at ASU. Hopefully ASU remains "like minded" after they hire their new AD.
  19. Do you actually have a source? My guess was Tarleton.
  20. I get that. Meant that the Bison are known for killing teams with the run game in the 4th quarter. Defenses can't stop it even when they know it's coming. Beat them at their own game. Why else call plays differently the rest of the season?
  21. I don't understand why he stuck to the ground vs NDSU but not in those games. Truly baffling, considering how well running the ball worked, and the final result.... Why fix what isn't broken? Did they only run the ball vs NDSU because it was an ego thing? I don't get it... they treated that game differently it seems.
  22. Going back years. Look at Tommy's stats vs NDSU prior to this season for example. I think it's a scheme thing. Our screen game works against inferior opponents but not defenses with great athletes which can get to our receivers quicker (less open space for them to work with, where they actually get the yardage after short pass). This limits our ceiling and it's why we underperform in big games.
  23. Same question for Minot. Will they try again or continue to try and find the funding.
  24. Anyone think UMary or Jamestown will try to make a push for D1 puck within the next 5-10 years?
  25. They (Gophs) just got new lighting installed as well, I believe. I always notice this at Denver though... real bad.
