  1. What I said was a fact, not a mindset.
  2. But none are a sure thing. Look what happened to Nebraska after they fired Pelini. Pelini left the NU football program with a 67–27 record, winning at least 9 games in every season. Despite this record, and winning several bowl games, Nebraska never won a conference title under Pelini.[19] Eichorst stated at a press conference that Pelini hadn't won "the games that mattered the most" against top-tier opponents. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo_Pelini
  3. Some stats from PFF This year: Last year: 2021:
  4. I recall the announcers in the SDSU game saying multiple times that none of the receivers were open. That can't still be a problem is it? He might not have the strongest arm ever, but it seems like it's good enough to attempt more than zero throws down field. Maybe it's something to do with his progression - is he just not looking at receivers with longer routes, either by choice or play calling? This is a 45 yard throw that he released fairly quickly.
  5. Agreed. Seems UND does weird plays fairly frequently to mess up good drives. Other than plays based off the QB sneak, I'm not in favor of running any Q wildcat plays ever again. Success rate is bad, and he isn't a fast enough runner. Tommy needs to throw downfield more often - the quick screen game doesn't work against good teams when they are expecting that.
  6. My apologies - I just searched and I think Midwestern Hawk made the posts about Petrino that I was thinking of.
  7. He's the last guy I'd call a snake oil salesman... lol. I'd be ready to move on though, to answer your question.
  8. He was also pumping Petrino and we all saw how that played out.
  9. Your interpretation was that he was complaining?
  10. Does that include high schools taking college courses?
  11. I probably wouldn't even post to be honest. My buddies give me crap for "blogging" on here as it is, and in real life I'm kind of embarrassed to ever admit I do. It would be interesting to know who some of the people are behind the screen names... would probably be some interesting surprises. For example John Goodman (actor) posts on the Missouri State message boards I believe. I'd love to know the burner accounts for people in the athletic department.
  12. I liked it better when we didn't need to rationalize a bad non-conference record.
  13. NDSU 2023 Fall Summary https://www.ndsu.edu/data/enrollment/summaries/
  14. Agree. Look at Tommy's stats every time we play NDSU for example. Too many screen passes against fast defenses.
  15. I'm a Schuster guy, but play a backup the rest of the game.
  16. Boise State release their updated depth chart yet? Can't find traditional game notes.
  17. So was Tommy's worst play of the day a TD pass? Is that what people are complaining about? Imagine if he did this!
  18. Nice to see that the REA has started pushing Football merch: https://www.siouxshop.com/search/football/
  19. Yeah, both will be great facilities. I love the housing tie in for UND's. How cool would it be to be a football player living an memorial village... I like the design of NDSU's practice facility, especially that it's at ground level and the garage doors on the side of the field can be opened. It has a ton more natural light. Now that Pollar phase two won't be as tall as planned, I'd like to see UND add windows or a way to get natural light into the building along it's west side, near the ceiling. @The SicatokaHow much money will UND be saving by having it's practice field so far underground? Significant difference in heating and cooling costs?
  20. NOW is the time to look and bumping out the South end of the Alerus though. If GF is going to be investing a bunch of money at the Alerus site, they need to at least look into the possibility of tying it into the south side of the Alerus Center and adding a bar. Connect the new practice fields to the football field at ground level and it could be a huge addition that could potentially be used for convention space, if the opportunity presented itself. Connect the projects, add seats the the south side of the Alerus and add a bar/restaurant that serves both venue's.
  21. I like this concept but I think the best purpose would be for short term fundraising projects rather than long-term planning. People want to see results. Show renderings on the video board during an ad spot. I was really loud about how UND went about their fundraising for phase two of the HPC, and something like this would have been great along the way (or NOW to improve the project). I think they this idea could have worked at destination hockey games in Nashville and Vegas, as well, because they could have exposed the project to UND fans who may no longer live in the region or who may no longer be in-the-know about fundraising for a project like this, but may otherwise have been interested in donating. They would have found new donors, no doubt. When I was in Vegas and Nashville, I was suprised by the lack of fundraising efforts. Should have been renderings of every project UND was working on and those special games should be treated more like huge fundraising events - filled with both passionate and casual UND fans, with money, willing to travel for UND, in a good mood, filled with UND spirit... no better time to educate people on facilities plans. Many people at those games care about other sports more than, or just as much, as hockey.
  22. Hockey question, but the drones made me wonder.. does the REA still shine spotlights in the air on game night? I always thought that was really cool. Hope they do.
