Cratter, I don't think having a top ten rink equates to "falling behind", as you stated. Can you name ten better rinks? I just think it would be a shame if they replaced it with a mariucci type building. Bigger = stale, even the excel energy center is pretty stale IMO.

Michigan doesn't need a new arena. It is one of the best, and most historic barns in all of college hockey. It would be like Duke or Butler building a new arena.... not necessary.

I'm pro NCHC, but I'm afraid that if we got an offer, which we won't, UMD, ONO, or Denver would be bolting, and the NCHC would not be what it is today. If the Big Ten wanted to add an affiliate or two, and we declined, we would be left with a watered down NCHC. That's the biggest reason to accept. For example, would we want to be in a conference that consisted of CC, UNO, SCSU, Mankato, Bowling Green, WMU, and Miami, while we watch UMD and or Denver play in the Big Ten without us? I don't think I would.

Montana lost two 3 Big Sky teams this year, and only beat ISU as a result of lucky play in overtime. Yet Montana beat both NDSU and SDSU this year. Big Sky isn't as bad as you want to believe.

Not really. He is implying that NDSU wouldn't invest in the resources need to be successful/compete with UND. The biggest problem is everybody has a different opinion of what it means to "compete".
