  1. got one right I guess, albeit I didn't want hicks getting hurt.
  2. The one thing that Sano had over Buxton, despite him having better overall tools (arm, defense, speed, etc.) was his bat. I have read that his bat was ready two years ago, but the elbow injury set him back. The thing that impresses me more than his power has been his eye at the plate. He does strike out a lot yes, but he rarely gets overmatched. He has a certain swagger and confidence about him that his quite refreshing to say the least. If he never plays defense and was the DH for 10-12 years for the Twins, I wouldn't care.
  3. the decision to do a bullpen game on friday was a flaming disaster. If we had May it would have been a different story. Could have called up Berrios for a spot start. but no.... now perk is hurt. Make May the closer! at least Sano isnt afraid of the spotlight. Has had a nice series so far. We should be talking about that and going for a sweep instead of a fire pit of a bullpen and avoid getting swept.
  4. You don't really know what you are going to get with these teams when you get over there. I tend to take results with a grain of salt, and look more towards how they played, who looked good, how they played D, etc. etc. That being said, I am surprised and impressed by the play of Brick and Baldwin. I love how Hooker has become the leader of this team, I expect big things from him this year with a much better supporting cast that last year. Geno has looked as advertised. On paper, we should be a lot better than last year. How much better is the million dollar question. Montana should be the clear favorite next year, with Weber, NAU, EWU behind them. SUU is a sleeper pick to crash the party. ISU and MSU should be at the bottom as both are rebuild and whatever ISU is trying to do. A battle between UND, UNC, Sac State, Idaho, and PSU for spots 6-10 is likely. I expect this to be a typical Jones team, a slow start but by March, be a team that no one wants to play. A 13-15 win season and 8-10 conference wins roughly is what I am expecting from this group Will that be enough to save his job (the cardinal rule for ADs, rarely allow coaches to play the last year of their contracts out)? Who knows. Next year the only significant loss will be Hobaugh, and we added a talented guard in Baker. If UND does not lose anybody from transfer, I don't see why UND can't be a contender for the conference crown in the 16-17 season.
  5. So if I read this correctly, starting on January 1 for conference games, the NCHC is applying the Minnesota State High School League jersey rules (i.e: darks at home) http://www.nchchockey.com/news_article/show/544544?referrer_id=878553
  6. 1.5 games out 10 game road trip with the Yanks, O's and Rays. Season will be defined on this trip as to whether the Twins will be playing meaningful September ball or not. The only prediction I will make is that Buxton will be back on the team at some point during this road trip (currently crushing it in Rochester). I would run with a Hicks-Buxton-Rosario outfield all day.
  7. Its like what you say Sic. It is their organization, they make up their own rules.
  8. Well there was one solution to the questions.... it only lasted 2 days however.
  9. Wont do nothing, want to make sure ol Roy and company win a national title before touching them. I hope they get nuked. Zero excuse for any of that to happen... ever.
  10. Why do I get the feeling this will end very ugly.
  11. Lets hope these are only the nickel and dimer variety of injuries that are usually associated with camp. It would be nice to be at full strength to start the year. Now that the first full week of practices are coming to a close and nearing the halfway point of camp, a few questions 1) Who looks to be the most improved (individual players and positions)? 2) Who have been the surprises from the incoming freshman (people who are pushing to get their shirts pulled)? 3) Had to guess, how many true freshman play this year?
  12. Do you feel the QB battle is starting to turn into a 2 man race between Keaton and Joe?
  13. Will this force Kelley's hand and allowing it back on? Or will it still not matter?
  14. i am a little surprised of the number of responses in a short period (2 days). Its telling but not telling. guess we will see what happens at the end of the month when Kelley decides.... hopefully.
  15. Leading Scorers: Hooker 25 McD 13 Brick 9 Seales 7
  16. Why in the world is Berrios not getting the call but Duffey is... and May gets thrown back in the rotation for like what.... 2 starts and then back in the bullpen then? What in the world? Oh well, took 2 from Texas and looks like early they might get the sweep. Perhaps they are not dead yet...
  17. Good sign already, Hooker taking over this one. Has 20 points and UND is winning by 17.
  18. UND with a 15-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.
  19. Clock is ticking Kelley. Make your decision soon.
  20. Drew committed to the Gophers tonight.
  21. They typically do, but I did sent a reply to him if they were going to do that. Results will be made early next week with number of responses.
