  1. No official ruling but the tea leaves certainly are heading towards a denial isn't it.
  2. It looks like you can make a SPECIFIC donation to the sport you want.
  3. 2 scholarship 2 walkons
  4. Fair point on the posting. If I had to pick one, I would have gone with Bothun based on his shooting ability alone, but there isn't one that screams: play right away. I don't necessaily see that as a bad thing, given what they have coming back and added in the transfer portal/JUCO world.
  5. While it doesn't seem likely that any of the freshman play this year, if you had to guess which one would be the most likely to play right away, who would it be?
  6. Windom is typically middle of the road in the section. Worthington.... well lets just say they focus their efforts on other sports (their demographics are a bit different). Probably made the wise decision to go elsewhere. Kato Schools and New Ulm rule the roost in 3A now, with the occasional spurt from Luverne.
  7. Ok. That makes sense. At least that is close enough to Sioux City. Its a bit of a haul to get from Heron Lake to SF. Darn, Windom or Worthington missed out on a stud goalie then.
  8. Was looking at the incoming freshman and noticed the hometown of Hedquist. Heron Lake, MN???? Did he play HS hockey anywhere?
  9. More Canadians! https://fightinghawks.com/news/2023/6/28/womens-basketball-fatima-ibrahim-rounds-out-womens-basketball-freshman-class.aspx
  10. I like this a lot. This is where, for a small fish like myself, who doesn't live close enough to justify a CC member, can direct my energies to. Pump this for what it is worth UND
  11. Jets trade PLD to LA for Iafallo, Villardi, Kupari, and a 2024 2nd Rounder. Nice haul
  12. When I was there as a freshman in 2009, they turned it into a coed dorm. My 6'4" roommate was not appreicated of the shower heads that only went up to his chest. They put the W hockey team there IIRC.
  13. I'm sure Noren and Selke are next on that list. Those were my 2 places of living freshman and sophomore year.
  14. Waiting to see if the Jets decide to blow it up or not.
  15. I know it has only been against the Tigers and it only has been 5 innings. but man... I hope Balazovic is the answer in the middle relief area of the pen
  16. Told my wife about Walsh (she lived in Squires freshman year). Her response: We aren't going to recognize the campus anymore are we?
  17. 2% Milk chance
  18. https://fightinghawks.com/news/2023/6/21/womens-soccer-gianna-hall-called-up-to-the-panama-national-team.aspx This is pretty cool
  19. They tore down Walsh Hall?
  20. Big hire here: https://fightinghawks.com/news/2023/6/20/travis-bledsoe-added-to-womens-basketball-staff.aspx
  21. Wait, NoDak Nation not doing their job? Say it ain't so!
  22. The bottom this year is going to be bad... especially if KC has the growing pains DU will go through. If WIU was still in the league, it would be even worse.
  23. So in looking at the landscape of the Summit right now (not the order I would pick it and won't put UND in here): -SDSU: Should be the favorite coming in, Mayo frontrunner for POY, a stud sophomore in Kyle III, Mohs and the Wyo transfer should give them an interesting frontcourt. -NDSU: Nelson loss is huge but will have an impressive backcourt coming back. Big question will be the tandem of Morgan and Feddersen down low. Should still be in the conversation for the top spot. -UST: Losing Rohde hurts. If they have kept him, we might be having a serious discussion about UST being a preseason favorite. Bjerke should be a heavy favorite to win FPOY. Blue will continue to grow as a guard and Lee still have great potential down low. Tauer will coach this group to a finish probably higher than the expects predict. -ORU: Mills gone, Vanover gone, Abmas gone. A lot of firepower gone from this squad. Still have McBride and Thompson to make life difficult for teams. Enough of a recent pedigree to think that they will still battle for a spot near the top next year. -Omaha: This could be a sneaky good team next year. Young team that took their lumps but have a lot of talented pieces. Fidler is a stud, Glover has a ton of potential, Jungers can really stretch it out for them. How far can they climb is the question. Are they ready to take a jump or two next year? Or are they still a year away? -USD: Decks have been cleared after a dissapointing first season under Peterson. Team is defintely bigger. Will have the Bruns Bros to build off of. They are the biggest mystery in the conference right now. They certainly can bounce back and get back in the thick of things. -KC/DU: They are both in the same boat, rebuilding projects. KC will still be a not fun team to play based on their style. DU was wrecked by injuries, stupid life decisions, and transfers, so they will be starting from scratch yet again. As I look, while there will be some tough teams, there isn't a world-beater out there this year in the Summit. No one should be running the table this year. It will make for an interesting conference season.
