  1. I don't think we disagree on anything regarding the Betty then. Be both dislike the bleachers and the lack of electronics.
  2. And an ENG

I know what UMary is and I agree it'd be a good place to go once you're ready to slow down (as is the rest of Bismarck). Perhaps that's why Roger Thomas ended up there, I just thought he would've ended up someplace bigger (perhaps better was a poor word choice earlier). I have lived in Bismarck.
  4. The team has to regain the community's trust before they'll buy the tickets. That takes time and winning. 5-6 won't cut it.
  5. I guess I don't understand why we don't use the Hyslop as the practice facility and make the Betty a more viable arena for game use. When it comes to having an elite game facility vs. an elite practice facility, I choose the elite game facility. Is the problem just that the Hyslop is on the wrong side of campus?
  6. All I know is the Betty scoreboards aren't the easiest to read right now.
  7. Good point. I've always been curious why they didn't include one when it first opened. Seems like one of those deals where they save $500K during construction in order to spend an additional $1.5 million 7 years later. (obviously those numbers are just made up by me)
  8. Between the Hyslop, Wellness Center, and the Betty I'm sure they could find a couple hoops to shoot at.

Hmm, I would've thought he'd end up someplace better than UMary after the NCC died.... but maybe he was looking for a less stressful position. I wouldn't blame him, at 65 he should be retiring within the next 5 years anyways.
  10. Is there adequate ceiling height in the Betty to get a scoreboard with video screens at half court? For some reason I remember feeling like there wouldn't be enough room for something nicer like that.

What is he doing since the NCC died? Retired?
  12. Looking at the UMN revenue number, I'd have to think they're allocating the FSN tv deal to their hockey team, whereas the MidcoSN tv deal that UND has is either being spread across the sports programs or just going into the AD's Office to be doled out as needed. I'm guessing that must be the case anyways because Mariucci has a lower capacity than the Ralph and I can't imagine the gophers are charging much more (if at all) for a seat than UND is.
  13. Yeah there must be an uneven cost allocation going on there to dump extra expenses on the men's hockey team. Also, those expense numbers would have to include player scholarships. I've gotta agree with gfhockey on this one, there's no way the women's team is making any money. I suppose nearly all the revenue being attributed to them could be coming from student fees.
  14. Source? Also, is the $1.5M after paying for the players' scholarships? I realize the Ralph isn't the cheapest building to run, but I can't imagine it's costing UND THAT much.
  15. $50,000 sounds like a lot, but in the new Ralph UND is selling 11,000+ seats at around $30 each every game ($330,000).
  16. Then I'd take UND men's hockey (without having to shell out for the other athletics programs). Watch out, ticket prices are going up under the new regime...... beer prices too. Nobody's ever said I don't know how to make an extra $1 Disclaimer: I have no idea what the Lincoln Stars finances look like.
  17. 4 more D1 championship team players have been arrested for robbery. http://sports.yahoo....794--ncaaf.html
  18. Do I still get to use donated money to pay for the players' scholarships?
  19. Agreed. But not being able to watch a replay wouldn't make me stay home from the game either....

If Mussman proves himself, he should get a pay raise. I don't think his pay should've been increased 50% solely due to UND moving up to D1-AA. If he and UND ever decide to go their separate ways and UND goes outside to pick up a new coach, I'd assume the salary would be far more competitive. Also, if he ever gets the football program into a more competitive standing, he'd have a bargaining chip with which he can ask for more $$.
  21. Meh, I don't think people go to games to watch video replay boards, although they would be conventient. A lot of people now go to the hockey games because they are a party and it's the popular thing to do. This I definitely agree with. Losing to UMKC was an embarrassment.
  22. Zombies are rising from the graveyards of Great Falls, MT. Don't trust the national media!! http://news.yahoo.com/tv-station-hacker-warns-zombies-montana-002641825.html
  23. ndsu couldn't afford it either.... chapman didn't care
  24. Also, since one of our bizun friends decided to chime in, the law was proposed and pushed by ndsu alum and house majority leader Al Carlson.
  25. The North Dakota state legislature passed a law basically saying we aren't allowed to pick a new name until 2015 in order to give everybody kind of a "cooling off" period. I don't hate being reffered to as just The University of North Dakota, it's certainly better than the UND Spirit or the UND green and white. Most on this board, including me, like it when the sports commentators/writers accidentally refer to us as the Fighting Sioux. Hopefully we start hearing some potential options for a new name from the university soon. If they pick out some !@#!$ name (see: Spirit) I'm guessing most fans will complain and then eventually just ignore it and keep referring to the teams as UND.
