Agreed. The logos might have a bit too much going on right now, but they could be cleaned up some. I'd also suggest right now that if Roughriders is selected that we don't have "Lady Roughriders" for the women's teams. It'll inevitably be shortened to Lady Riders by someone and then we'll have a big twitter deal on how sexist the school is.

Will the NCAA do anything to them? (or have they and I just forgot what measly punishment they received?)

Fighting Green - That's two adjectives describing nothing. Just awful, don't know why it's still on the list (or how it was even suggested by someone in the first place). Fighting Hawks - Sounds awful. Desperate attempt to hold onto "Fighting" by throwing it together with the generic name that consultants always seem to push. Green Hawks - Dumb. There's no such thing as a green hawk. Or are we talking about environmentally friendly hawks? Perhaps the logo can be a hawk carrying a plastic bottle towards a recycling bin. Thunder Hawks - Least terrible of the 4, but still pretty bad. In summary, I'd rather just be "Hawks" than have it paired with any of the awful adjectives they chose. These 4, along with pride (setting ourselves up here), blaze (ok Cheech), spirit (what?), sundogs (well at least we can just steal Hawaii's rainbow logo and save some money), and force (Fargo?) should not make the final ballot.

And there will continue to be national stories of how racist UND is when young people from other cities and schools wear Siouxperdrunk shirts out boozing.....

If North Stars was to be chosen we just need to make sure the extra North is dropped for the actual implementation. The Dakota North Stars. Call your legislator.

I just showed you a green and white star. Looks fine. Those other names are so bad I'm not going to spend any time trying to find a workable logo for them.

I'm not trying to argue in favor of those names, as I don't like them, but have you looked at the Sioux logo recently? Not much green there, mostly brown, black, and white. I guess I wouldn't have a problem with a primarily silver star (I wouldn't have a problem with the color that is, I'd be somewhat disappointed in the name), if that was the choice.

The Ben Brien Sioux logo has red, green, yellow, black, white, and brown in it.

He's the only one that appears to care that they're losing.

What do you believe to be the official nickname of the state? Please be prepared to cite the section of code. I'm actually curious what it truly is.

What happened to badlanders? It wasn't my favorite, but it certainly deserves a place above pride, spirit, and green hawks.

We had one graduate, one suffered a career-ending injury, and one who is a plodding LB. Now we have one FBS transfer and a few freshmen (two of whom the coaches see playing other positions). We're apparently struggling to attract another high-quality transfer, thus..... we need a warm body at least to alleviate depth concerns. If the depth player also has potential at CB, all the better, IMO.
