  1. Gundy did call it Rudy-esque.

    2019 Season

This may have also been part of the price of admission to the MVFC
  3. No LOI yet? As they say in the song... Christmas is coming soon
  4. Guessing the Sanford Summit League lets them in...
  5. December 13th has come and gone. How long until an announcement?
  6. And Denver can win a DI lacrosse and too many national hockey championships.
  7. There were a few balls that were seriously under thrown, yet their receivers managed to slow down/turn around and make the catch. iirc - as many under thrown as he had were he put it in the receivers hands and they did not have to break their stride. He has good wheels, but was not all that impressed with his arm. It's not the qb, it's how the team plays as a team that is so impressive. Someone on here - Sica, Geaux, Oxbow, not sure who it was... said its not the they do anything complicated, but their execution is so gpod.
  8. Interesting that this article says basketball is Denver University's only revenue sport. What does that say about how widely NCAA Hockey is followed?
  9. Now THAT is an apples to apples comparison
  10. If the end result of this is Summt football, then it becomes slightly more palatable. However, do not believe that Douple is forward-thinking enough to take the Summit in that direction. It will have to fall on the Presidents and Athletic Directors. If this does run off the non I-29 schools, it just reinforces the paradigm that the Summit is a stepping stone league that is not a stable conference. More move-ups are becoming more scarce. Who would be next? Mankato? Duluth? Pittsburg? If they bring stability, it might, repeat might, be a positive. still mourn leaving the Big Sky.
  11. Iirc, this is the scenario. Not sure how long any of the extensions were, but that timing rings a bell
  12. Chaves hasn't even been on the job for a year. He has many coaching issues left behind by Faison to deal with. UND has fallen a long way since the hockey national and Big Sky quad. Guessing he has many fires to put out. Which one first? Second? He punted on the fb one, and probably handcuffed by the contract extensions given by Faison on the others too.
  13. Serious question... What would be the appeal of being FBS G5 when Central Florida has won 25 in a row and is still not even considered for the FBS playoffs?
  14. I really sincerely hope UND joins NDSU And SDSU at the top of the MVFC in 2020. I just worry that this staff has too much resemblance to the SIU staff of Lennon's that could not regularly make the top half of the league. in other news, OC Kalen DeBoer's Fresno Bulldogs pulled out the OT win over Boise last night in the MWC championship game.
  15. So, did Case flip Skokna?
  16. Have been pondering this and think Clifford Galesburg Twins were black and white, but really not sure. Grandin (Eagles?) before Cass Valley North was purple and white (or maybe purple and gold) think Argusville was Red and White
  17. If Rudy's St. Cloud offense was so dynamic, who put the governor on the offense at UND? Was it Rudy or was it Bubba? If it was Bubba, can we really expect a different offense next year, no matter who the coordinator is?
  18. Mayville Lions were black and white Portland Pirates were maroon and white (iirc) Don't remember C-G Twins colors or the individual schools my apologies that I cannot remember C-G, but pretty confident on Mayville and Portland Sica may be a better source for the C-G colors
  19. First year coach took over 1 - 10 team and got them into the playoffs. Hmmm?
  20. It's time for the #gobc to step up with their checkbooks - then step aside
  21. Guess I wasn't clear in my post. Not advocating moving to D-II, nor dropping football. Just an observation of who these coaches are recruiting and how they are using them. If they are recruiting project players, they have to coach them up, not put them in impossible positions and then erode everyone's confidence with the play calling.
  22. I don't think the STYLE of football is the problem. There was a comparison to NDSU a few days ago, and the style of the 2 teams seems very comparable. It's in the placement of the plays, the execution of the plays and the result of the plays that are different. It's the confidence of execution in both the coaches and the players. It is also the ability or willingness to make adjustments during the game to adapt to what the opponent is throwing at you. Plus, NDSU, with their history (and not just recent history) gets their pick of the recruits, while Bubba, Rudy and the rest of the UND staff sign players that have no other D-I offers. Not saying these UND recruits are not good, but maybe they are D-II good, just not able to compete on the D-I level. I would be willing to bet that NDSU has as many players playing on Sunday as some of the lower P5 schools, like Minnesota and Rutgers.
