Hey just a question do we have anyone on UND team that is 25?

I swear the Guy on KFAN Radio is Happy from USCHO. DA and PA or what ever the hell their names are. I had the misfortune of listening to the KFAN between the hours of 1100 and 1200 and at the end of the show they have Rube Rant. I have only listened to this show maybe two times but some Rube from MSP calls in and said once UND gets into the second part of the season there will be no Canisus to play and that they will be a medicre team probably middle of the pack of bottom of the league. Are people really that stupid? Mediocre teams do not go 16-1-1 to start the season no matter who they play. If UND schedule is so bad how come MSU-Mankato beat both C.C. and UofM. For christ sakes what are they teaching these people/rubes in school I am dissappointed UND hasn't got to play UAH two times. Are we to believe that UAH is better than Canisus. And do show me some stupid strenght of schedule right now it means nothing till the end of the season... When will UND finally get some respect, I am not even saying we deserve to be number one. But work with me here. The UND team that got beat by UofM 6 out of 7 times was really young and UND gave the Gophers all they could handle. In Retrospect UND could have very well went 3/7 or 4/7 against the Gophers so, the argument that UND isn't very good isn't very accurate. UND hung tough with a team that was loaded with Upper Classmen. Same with C.C. we split with them and almost came back and won the second game against the Tigers in World Arena. I think UND is better this year. So are UND a fluke I don't think so. Bring on the second half of the season. Oh by the way. Has anyone ever met Happy? Flame away... Oh yeah Merry X-mas and Happy New Year...

Notice at the end of the box score that Matt Green got a 10 minute misconduct... December 26, 2002 SYDNEY, Nova Scotia - The United States opened the 2003 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship with a 5-1 loss here tonight against defending gold medalist Russia (1-0-0). Forward Alexander Ovechkin registered a hat trick less than midway through the game to pace Russia, which never trailed. Russia opened scoring in the first period while skating with three seconds remaining on a power play. Ovechkin one-timed a shot into the top of the net on a cross-ice pass to give Russia a 1-0 lead 16:20 into the game. Russia then went up 2-0 on a wrist shot by Ovechkin past the glove hand of U.S. goaltender James Howard (Ogdensburg, N.Y./University of Maine) with just :11 remaining in the period. The United States dominated play in the early minutes of the second period and broke through in the scoring column when forward Patrick O'Sullivan (Sterling Heights, Mich./Mississauga Ice Dogs) snapped a shot above the glove hand of Russian goaltender Andrei Medvedev at 2:44. Defenseman Ryan Whitney (Scituate, Mass./Boston University) was credited with an assist on the play. Russia answered to go up 3-1 after defenseman Kirill Koltsov accepted a pass on a breakaway and deked Howard before depositing the puck in the lower right corner of the net on a short-handed marker at 7:17. Russia took a 4-1 advantage as Ovechkin was sitting on the left-side doorstep and one-timed a pass by team captain Yuri Trubachev from across the crease. In the final frame, Russia extended its lead to 5-1 at 7:06 on a breakaway goal when Trubachev scored through the five-hole of U.S. goaltender Bob Goepfert (Kings Park, N.Y./Providence College), who entered the game in the second period. O'Sullivan and Ovechkin were named the players of the game for their respective teams. The United States (0-1-0) next faces Switzerland (1-0-0) in the second game of the preliminary round for both teams. The game can be heard live at www.usahockey.com. Switzerland defeated Belarus (0-1-0) earlier today, 4-2. In other action, Finland (1-0-0) downed Germany (0-1-0) by a score of 4-0. Host Canada and Sweden play later tonight. Actually its not need since you can get Subway at the arena. You can get a sub in between beers... He,he,he...

I think this paragraph speaks volumes, its very profound? I sure that JBB, Pucker, "Lil" Johnny Hoff, Vivian Nelson, Glenda Misken (Owner of the ND racism site), SDSU fan and some of the other Rubes will read this and just reject it because it fails to met their agenda. I mean If the article isn't written on The New York Times or the Washington Compost, they reject it and call it wrong. think the article is great and long over due. I am sure the minute Mr Englestad died a lot of the P.C. Nazis were saying oh now is a great opportunity to change the name. Boy are they mistaken. I encourage UND alumni and UND students to fight them every step of the way. I sure as hell will every chance I get. On the Barnes and noble issue, the Management at Barnes and Nobel would be stupid if they decided to pull the Fighting Sioux merchandise, UND Fighting Sioux Merchandise and gear brings in 100,000.00 I know if I was managing the place I would definately not take these activists advice.

I didn't intend it to be a compliment.

Thats because your a troll...

I can't believe the amount of post from people who claim UND schedule is filled with creme puffs. I actually think UND is a good team. They didn't beat Michigan by accident. What is going to happen when Blaiser takes them on the road and they start knocking off the so-called big boys of the block? Actually SCSU already did it with C.C. and even the mighty Gophers haven't beaten C.C. yet. Today I had to listen to some A$$ Hole gopher fan spout the same exact crap that Happy is spouting off on USCHO where are they getting this crap, I have a feeling it is coming from KFAN, you can't measure the SOS this early in the season it is out of wack. Apparently like I have said before UAH must be a really good team and now they have the audacity to play Yale in their rendition of the Marriucci Cream Puff Tourney of the South. The only good team in the tourney is B.C. and this is the same team that lost to Dartmouth...

Pat, The message that I got was that Ryan would be fine they just gave him the time off to rest so he would be ready for the second half of the season. His brother David didn't seem to think it was that bad when he was interviewed after the Friday Game. I bet its hard to tell since its now X-mas break and most of the guys are probably at home.

Scott and Sprig I see your points, I didn't think so, just stiring the pot. As you know I would never do that?

I am in the midst of putting together a get together with some BSU and UND fans Friday before the Subway Holiday Classic (or what ever the tourney name is). The event will kick off around between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Dagwoods. There are a few Beaver Fans that are also interested in doing this and have told me that they are coming. It would be a good opportunity to get to know other fans from other teams and drink a few drinks with them. A couple of us have met them over the years while attending BSU and Sioux games. It ussally ends up being a lot of fun and they are very nice people. Any takers? Goon

So maybe Blaiser threw the game against SCCC so the Sioux didn't have to play UofMichigan? So are we to imply that too?

Yeah it was tough watching Hoser be on the winning team being we owned him for this first three seasons. No sugar coating it Hauser sucked. I was painful to see the Gophers win the NCAA title too. I Loved it when the Maine player I cann't remember what his name was give the SHHHH sign after he scored during the final of the NCAA championship. As for Minnesota: I know but I have never seen 18,000 fans be quite after Denver pumeled them in the WCHA Final Five. I enjoyed the moment. Two buddies and myself sat right in the middle of them and stood up and cheered everytime Denver Scored, I thought we were going to get murdered. I have never seen an arena empty so fast during the third period. I thought it was fitting after the Gophers marched out of the arena following their band the night before.

I really think that is a good point. I appreciate good hockey no matter who is playing, it all boils down to its hockey. My television is definately tuned in every Friday and Saturday if I am not watching the Sioux checking out the enemy in MPLS. On Saturday I love to watch CBC and the coaches corner. Also, I watch the NHL no matter who is playing. Hockey is where its at, and I can't stand basketball. To bad ESPN has cut the number of hockey games it airs this season. I really enjoyed the Final Five last March. Most of my friends took a pass on the tourney but I still showed up to watch the games. My wife didn't understand the reason I went but I told her it was hockey and I had to be there.

Ok, here is the deal we just can't allow BSU to lose and UND can have no let down against the Brown, who by the way beat SCCC and Wisconsin last year I believe. They just mentioned the message board on the coaches show and the post about the three crappy teams and a really good team...

Let us clear something up for our buddies in Gooferville 16 > 9. Oh yeah and 7 > 4.

SDSU fan get off your high horse. The Lakota Singers that did the dance for Englestad's memorial are in favor of the name, and the performance they put on was very moving and an honor to a fallen donor. So you are wrong, there are natives that think the name is an honor but the vocal minority of students and white liberal hand ringing professor seem to think they need to interject their feelings. Do you ever find it funny that a fair number of the native americans that are against the name aren't even of Sioux decent they are Ojibiwe or Chipewa. Just one of the fact, but your not interested in the facts are you...
-
Oh by the way SDSU fan I might as well let you know this, THE NAME IS NOT GOING ANY WHERE. So the 100+ P.C. Nazis go ahead talk about this issu till your blue in the face, no one is listening. Give it up... Go throw some stones in your glass house.
-
Or a NCAA tourney win for that matter.

Personally I am getting tired of peoples jealousy towards the Univeristy of North Dakota, can't beat them in fund raising so lets try to take the moral high ground. Oh, yeah SDSU is such progressive university. That is what it boils down to jealousy. Yep your right lets change the name because 100-200 people want it done, not to mention that 12,000 fans that are in support of the name at any given time while a hockey game is going on. From a business stand point it doesn't even make economical sense. But we are talking about arts and science students that have nothing better to do with their time. Yep your right lets just cave right in. No problem lets just do away with anything that offends us, no matter how small the number is. Lets look at all the problems at SCCC so when the spot light is on them lets try to refocus the attention someone else. I would really be proud of a college professor getting into with a fan, that is really classy. Yep probably a sociology professor or a english professor.

I like the fact that Blaiser gives up and coming teams a shot at a game should be commended. However, I am sick and tired of hearing fans and media give them a hard time for doing this. Feasting on patsy and cream puffs. Ala Happy... Dahl has been doing this with SCSU he played a home and home with BSU the last couple of years. However, last year it almost cost Dahl's team a loss in the John Glass field house. I think we have to give these teams a shot. In another note, I guess Maine isn't having the best of time with the MAAC this season they barely beat QC 2-1 and Iona played Maine them tough last night losing 4-1.
-
Scott, I am glad that you brought that up because if you listen to the JBB, Vivian Nelson, Glenda Miskens (losers) of the world you would be given the impression that that UND was a racist organization where we were oppressing Indian students at UND, and there is an ongoing investigation at UND when its not the case. However, as Scott brought SCCC has way more problems than UND, as we already knew. So, here is my question why isn't the clowns at SCCC minding their own business? Why does the president of SCCC still have his job? Why hasn't he been fired yet?
-
I think UND can go like 1-1-2 couple of ties against C.C. or something like that. No offense, no team this season scares me? I think UND is about par with the other teams in the league. Denver isn't playing as well as most of us thought they would this season. We will see... I actually could care less what some Jack Ass from KFAN thinks about UND, especially since they have never seen UND play but have the gall to say oh UND has an average defense (yep two are world junior players, pretty average), then went on about the medocre goaltending. Ok, fine, I will buy that one. Then they try to say with a straight face that say UND only has one line, yesh. Then to top it all off, actually last weekend Patrick Reussie was on the radio with some of his clowns (I was getting his show out of 970 in Fargo) some (Jack Ass) caller called up and made some off the cuff comment about how there were they were morning the loss of Ralph and wearing 10,000 swastika arm bands, then the comments about the arena, blah, blah, vintage JBB, Johnny Hoff stuff. I thought what ever dick head but I was shocked that Pat Reussie would just laugh and not correct the guy on it.
